A significant number of additional officers from various local congregations in the US states of Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah took their oath of duty on June 20, 2022 during the special gathering of Church officers convened by the Ecclesiastical District of Mountain States leadership.
Brother Artemio Pilon Jr., district supervising minister, officiated at the gathering held in the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Henderson, where the new officers from local congregations across Nevada gathered for their oath taking. Those from other local congregations located in the other states gathered at their respective places of worship and connected via videoconferencing.
In his Bible-based homily, Brother Pilon taught the attendees to cherish the Church duties they swore to fulfill. Citing the Scriptures about the significance of their roles in the edification work of the Church, he explained that God expects them to be diligent in and devoted to performing their obligations come what may in their lives.
“Part of the lesson that struck me the most is that God calls [Church officers] from those who always strive to obey, making sacrifices to prove they could be of help to those in need,” said Ruth Adordionicio, from the Local Congregation of Las Vegas, Nevada, one of those who took oath that day. — With reports from INC News Section
