To keep choir members zealous in fulfilling Church duties, the Ecclesiastical District of Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines, held a special gathering for them at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Cebu City on July 5, 2026.

The gathering also included the oath-taking of new choir members.

Brother Jomar B. Dueñas, district supervising minister, officiated at the gathering. Through a Bible-based lesson, he emphasized the importance of fulfilling choir duties with wholehearted devotion since the singing of hymns is a part of the worship service of God’s people.

“The reminders we received strengthened my resolve to remain devoted in my duty,” said Friezel May Meneses, choir member from the Local Congregation of Cambinocot.

Marilou Oyao, choir leader from Alaska Congregation, likewise expressed gratitude for the gathering. “As choir members, we offer praises to God not only through our voices but also through our hearts,” she said. “The  lesson today inspired me to fulfill my duty with greater zeal despite the challenges I encounter.”

Among those who took their oath was Drian Lee Tabunares of Pulpogan Congregation. “The lesson taught us the importance of true worship and faithfulness in our duties,” he shared. “This gathering strengthened my faith and inspired me to serve even more wholeheartedly.” — With assistance from Jenard Armas
