Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from various local congregations in the Ecclesiastical District of Northwest California joined hands to help keep Pacifica Beach off the Pacific Coast Highway in California, USA litter-free.
In collaboration with Pacific Beach Coalition, an all-volunteer based organization, the brethren on August 13, 2022 cleared the favorite summer getaway, better known to surfers as Linda Mar Beach, of trash and debris, which they then properly disposed of.
For the brethren’s united efforts at the said environmental action, current council member and former mayor of Daly City, Juslyn Manalo, presented a certificate of recognition to the Church.
Part of the certificate reads, “Thank you for community service for the communities and neighborhoods you serve in. Also for your commitment to environmental sustainability and justice. I wish you nothing but the best and blessings in all your endeavor.” — With reports from Northwest CA Multimedia

Held at the basketball court of Vanier College, Montreal, Quebec, the event opened with the Kids Basketball back-to-back with the three-point competition. An open volleyball followed.

From July 24 to 27, 2022, in commemoration of the 108th anniversary of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), the Ecclesiastical District of San Diego County, California held a series of evangelical missions in various local congregations, after which INC Giving events were held wherein brethren handed out care packages and other donations to community partners such as teachers, law enforcers, and community members.
“We prepared by having a week-long devotional prayer and, at the same time, preparing all materials needed. All the congregations campaigned well through giving out invitations and posting promotional materials in the community centers and even in business bulletin boards,” said Brother Gideon King Soliman, district Light of Salvation (LOS) overseer.
Brethren from the local congregations of Temecula Valley, Hemet, North San Diego, Vista, and Spring Valley invited their friends and loved ones to the evangelical mission held in their respective houses of worship on July 24; the local congregations of South San Diego and El Cajon on the following day, July 25; and the National City Congregation on the actual day of the Church’s anniversary, July 27.
Reactions
“I really appreciate the minister going by the biblical aspect and pointing out where specifically in the Bible [he is preaching about],” said Michelle Flores from San Diego, a guest.
“I’m glad to have some teacher’s appreciation. It’s been a challenging school year so it’s nice to have a little bit of encouragement to get ready for the next school year. I appreciate it,” expressed Dorothy Ardill, one of the guest-beneficiaries, from Rancho Bernardo, California.
A police officer from San Diego, Omar Luzuriaga, shared his thoughts on the activity, “We can see the good side of the community and for the Church Of Christ to bring that and just share that light that you are giving, it’s just an amazing feeling and experience.”

Through its social program, Care for Humanity (formerly Aid to Humanity), the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) on August 6, 2022 donated aid to a community and three advocacy organizations in Montreal, Quebec as part of the celebration of its 50th year in Canada.
Hundreds of care packages containing hygiene products and non-perishable food items were distributed to residents of Côte-des-Neiges, a neighborhood that has a large immigrant and student population. Non-profit social organizations, namely, Women Aware, Advocacy for Montreal, and Chez Doris received financial aid on behalf of their beneficiaries.
With the approval and instruction of the Church Administration, the Ecclesiastical District conducted the charitable event, under the auspices of the Church’s humanitarian arm, Felix Y. Manalo (FYM) Foundation, Inc.
Present at the event, which took place at the Sylvan Adams YM-YWHA Auditorium, were city officials including Stephanie Valenzuela and Sonny Moroz, city councilors for the district of Darlington in the borough of Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce and for the district of Snowdon, respectively.
Mr. Moroz said, “I’m grateful for the FYM Foundation and to the Executive Minister in everything they do to make sure that they continue to deliver services here in Montreal. I don’t know what we could’ve done during the pandemic without you.”
Leah Peck, coordinator of volunteers and community relations of Chez Doris, which advocate’s women’s welfare, said the help extended to them “means a lot.” “Any donation right now would help us to push through in our expansions because these are extremely expensive projects. So, a huge thanks to you,” she said.
Meanwhile, a recipient of the aid, Oleksandr Mukka from Ukraine, said, “Events like this support us a lot and very good for our society. This makes us feel at home because we found new friends and we got to talk to other people. So, I’m very happy.”
Brother Jose Razon II, Ottawa District supervising minister, explained that the Church’s charitable program is an “expression of our love to our fellowmen.” “What we did today is the Care for Humanity with the intention to not only extend help during those moments that they are in dire need but what we are also extending is our care,” he said.
Greater Toronto District supervising minister, Brother Glendo Baitan, confirmed that “the next location for the humanitarian event will be [our] district,” giving assurance that “we will prepare so much for this event. We’ve already reached out to institutions, food banks, and shelters.” –With reports from INC News Section

HONOLULU, Hawaii – Local firefighters in Makakilo, Hawaii were lauded and recognized by members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ).
Through the INC’s Care for Humanity Program, and the INC Giving Project, members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo from Oahu Island held an Appreciation Day for firefighters at Fire Station 35 in Makakilo, Hawaii.
INC members from the Kapolei Local Congregation recognized and appreciated Fire Station 35’s firefighter crew. Appreciation baskets were prepared with snacks, supplies, and thank you cards.
Additionally, the Kapolei local congregation read a letter to recognize the firefighters’ efforts for community: “We are privileged to be here and acknowledge the Makakilo Fire Station 35 crew for their sacrifices and unselfish devotion to duty to save lives, to make our community safe, peaceful and enjoyable.”

The firemen, through their Captain, Edward Lee, also thanked the Church for holding the Appreciation Day, saying this meant a lot for them.
“I know from the bottom of my heart (that) it gives our guys … more incentive to do what we do. You know, we’re [going to] do our job no matter what, but when we feel like we have the support and love from the community, it makes that even much more rewarding,” he said.
Captain Edward Lee also extended his appreciation: “On behalf of myself and the rest of the crew, I just wanted to say thank you to Church of Christ - Iglesia Ni Cristo, for coming out and showing your love and support for us here at Makakilo fire station. And we don't get this very often so we want to say thank you and mahalo for showing your love and support for all of us in what we do and sharing God’s love and support. In that way, it’s very much appreciated. We thank you, folks, very much.”
