MANILA, Philippines —   The Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) continued its outreach activities, this time helping residents in remote islands in the Visayas region.

This is part of the Church’s continuing efforts to help in areas severely affected by Typhoon Odette last year.

Under the directive of INC Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, to help those in need, the INC delivered thousands of goodwill bags containing rice, canned goods, instant noodles, medicines and vitamins to  communities in remote islands in Aklan, Biliran, Cebu, Iloilo, and Samar, among others, for the whole month of June.

Last May, the INC also handed out relief packs to some 10,000 people in more than 12 venues in islands in the Visayas.

“Napakarami po dito na dapat lingapin na mga island na remote, wala po talagang access sa mga basic necessity ngunit nariyan po, napupuntahan na po natin isa-isa [There are so many remote islands here that don’t have immediate access to basic necessities but here now we visit them one by one] ...” according to Brother Glicerio P. Santos IV, INC General Auditor, who explained the continuing humanitarian efforts of the INC in the Visayas provinces during the INC outreach on Molocaboc Island, Negros Occidental, which he led.

Wilfredo Tampus was among the 1,200 beneficiaries of the INC outreach on Pangan-an Island.

He explained how the INC outreach had a positive effect on his life. He said, “Dako kaayo ni tabang sa amoa kay lisod jud ang pangabuhi diri sa isla. Usahay naay kwarta. Pag dili mi may swahi wa jud kaunon akong pamilya [This is a big help to us because life here on the island is difficult. Sometimes we have money. If we fail to catch sea urchins, my family will starve].”

Apart from the relief items, the INC provided moral upliftment through teachings from the Bible.

The INC also continues to extend a helping hand to communities affected by economic difficulties, calamities, and the current COVID pandemic.

INC members in more than 160 countries and territories strive to play an active role in their respective communities by adhering to God’s command to “do good to those who need it” (Prov. 3:27, Good News Translation).

The Iglesia Ni Cristo was registered in the Philippines on July 27, 1914 by its first Executive Minister, Brother Felix Y. Manalo.

The INC is now found in 161 countries and territories, with members from 148 nationalities and races. — Courtesy of INC Public Information Office

The leadership of the Ecclesiastical District of Italy South inducted 200 brethren into various offices in their respective local congregations during a special gathering of all Church officers in the district, which was held on June 12, 2022.

The house of worship of the Local Congregation of Rome served as the host site. Other local congregations connected through videoconferencing.

“We thank the Lord God for the Church Administration’s approval for this oath-taking of many officers. We praise God for adding about 200 officers. It is a blessed gathering and oath-taking because we felt God’s guidance. Despite the hardships and trials, the brethren accepted their duties because they believe that is one of the foundations for salvation and for inheriting the eternal life,” Brother Camilo Buay Jr., district edification overseer, said.

Brother Randy Macalinao, the district supervising minister, through a Bible-based homily, reiterated to the attendees the importance of being fully committed to fulfilling their duties. He emphasized to them that being devoted to their duties is God’s will and would further ensure their salvation. He also pointed out to them the need to live righteously as they are expected by God to be good examples for the brethren.

After the homily, Brother Vizar Balcita, assistant district supervising minister, administered the oath-taking of the new Church officers.

“It is an honor and I am proud to receive my duty in the Christian Family Organizations (CFO),” enthused Raffaele Esposito, a newly-sworn in KADIWA officer from the Local Congregation of Napoli.

“I firmly believe that the newly sworn in officers are an added strength to the Church and help to its Administration for the continued success of its endeavors, for the glory of our Lord God,” said Nesencio Villarico Jr., head deacon from the Local Congregation of Roma Ovest. — With reports from INC News Section

To more closely care for the increasing number of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members in the island nation of Vanuatu, the Ecclesiastical District of Australia East recently opened three new group worship services (GWS), namely, Seaside, Rentapao, and Radio Station. Their inaugural worship service was held on May 27, 2022 via videoconferencing.

“The importance of having additional group worship services is [to] bring the worship services closer to the brethren so that they can all the more dedicate themselves to attending it,” Brother Thruman Amisola, district secretary, said.

Only for the inaugural worship service, the congregants from the Seaside and Rentapao GWS gathered in the place of worship of Port Vila GWS, while those from Radio Station in the place of worship of Espiritu Santo GWS. Succeeding gatherings were now being conducted in their own places of worship.

Brother Felix Santos, the district supervising minister, led the holy gathering from the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Carlingford, in mainland Australia. He preached a biblical lesson about intensively sharing the true faith so that more people—like the brethren from the three new GWS—come to know about and join the true Church Of Christ in order to be saved on Judgment Day.

“I’m very happy that we now have a place of worship in our place. I’m glad to invite my neighbors and friends to join us in our worship service here,” Frances Tausi, from Rentapao GWS, expressed. — With reports from INC News Section

“I’ve been searching online for the true Church,” said Lee Holmes from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA. On May 29, 2022, he was among the prospective members in the Ecclesiastical District of Northern Midwest who reached the day of their much-awaited of baptism. After completing the prerequisites, with the help of God, that day they became full-fledged members of Christ’s true Church.

The sacred occasion was officiated by Brother Erman Bendicio, the district supervising minister, at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Chicago, Illinois. Through videoconferencing, it was livestreamed to the Omaha, Nebraska Congregation’s house of worship, where other candidates for baptism also gathered.

During the study of God’s words, Brother Bendicio reiterated to the would-be members the great value of and the blessings gained from being obedient to the laws of God, among which is salvation on the Day of Judgment.

“When I sat back down in the pew after my baptism, I really felt renewed. I don’t think I’ve ever had that experience before,” De Borrah Nolan, another newly baptized brethren, recalled. She is now registered in the Local Congregation of Great Lakes, Illinois.

“I thank the Lord for letting me be part of the Church Of Christ. I’m going to listen to God, what His words have to say and what’s being preached to me. That’s the way that I want to live my life now,” Lee promised. — With reports from INC News Media

On June 7, 2022, just two days after the phreatic eruption of Mt. Bulusan in the province of Sorsogon, Philippines, the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) extended aid to the evacuees through its Lingap sa Mamamayan or Aid to Humanity program.

The said humanitarian event, organized and conducted by the Ecclesiastical District of Sorsogon, took place in three venues, namely, the compounds of the houses of worship of the local congregations of Juban and Gulang-gulang, and the Juban Evacuation Center.

“The same day of the disaster, the Church Administration encouraged us ministers, ministerial workers, Church officers, and members to muster our efforts in preparing the relief, which we provided our fellowmen with today,” said Brother Ruel Reyes, district supervising minister.

More than 1,000 relief packages containing rice, bottled mineral water, canned goods, noodles, and face masks, and other basic necessities were prepared and distributed to the evacuees.

“I and my husband were washing clothes that Sunday morning when, suddenly, we heard somewhat like a thunder, but that was the eruption. Children were running. I saw the ash plume shoot high in the sky,” narrated Maricel Tolentino, a resident of Brgy. Puting Sapa, one of the eight villages afflicted by the volcano’s ashfall. Her family evacuated not long after. “Thank you so much for reaching out to us,” she added. — With reports from INC News Section

A special gathering of Church officers from the Ecclesiastical District of Sta. Cruz, Laguna, Philippines, held on May 31, 2022, uplifted the spirits and further edified their faith, according to the attendees themselves.

Among them, Cielito Taleon, a deacon from Sta. Cruz Local Congregation, whose family was also present, enthused, “We were blessed in this special gathering, our family was edified.”

“In this special gathering, I received the strength and added faith I need to continue performing my Church duty. Whatever trials I may face, I will uphold it,” attested Agumar Tiongson, a deacon from the Local Congregation of Bagong Pook.

The Church’s general treasurer, Brother Ernesto V. Suratos, officiated the holy gathering held at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Sta. Cruz.

In his Bible-based homily, he reminded the brethren that it is God who places officers inside the Church for the benefit of those whom He has called. Accordingly, he exhorted the Church officers to remain steadfast in fulfilling their sacred duties even in the face of challenges in order to please Him, reassuring them that God Himself promised His help to His faithful servants.

“The words of our Lord God that we heard inspired us to keep our faith and continue with our duties,” Edwin Abary, deacon from Pagsanjan Local Congregation.

Brother Suratos was accompanied by Brother Melvin Cayabyab, the district supervising minister, who said, after the event, “Special gatherings, such as this, are important. This occasion gives strength to the Church officers and inspires them to remain united with the Administration in participating to the activities being launched in the Church.”

“We are thankful to God and the Church Administration for special gatherings that the Church officers need for them to be effective helpers in the Church,” Brother Cayabyab said in behalf of the Church officers in the district. — With reports from INC News Section

The Local Congregation of North Brisbane and the Caboolture Group Worship Service, both under the supervision of the Ecclesiastical District of Australia East, hosted on May 8, 2022 an evangelical mission at the Woodford Memorial Hall, 103 Archer St., Woodford, Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, followed shortly afterwards with an Aid to Humanity event.

Most of the guest-beneficiaries were migrants from the Solomon Islands, a sovereign country in Oceania, over 2,230 kilometers northeast of Queensland.

Brother Seth Gutierrez, assistant district supervising minister, taught a lesson based on the words of God written in the Bible. He expounded on the proper way of preparing for the future, most of all for the impending Judgment Day, to be assured of salvation—that is by joining the true Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ).

“We found many here who really are in need, most of whom are migrants. Through the leadership of our district supervising minister, Brother Felix Santos, we held this evangelical mission and Aid to Humanity hoping we’d be of help to them,” Brother Gutierrez said.

“Many people here who are from the Solomon Islands are interested in becoming Bible students,” North Brisbane Congregation’s resident minister Brother Mark Vasquez remarked. “It is our hope that they eventually become members of the Church Of Christ.”

It was Bronson Tanaqu, a Solomon Islander, at the time a doctrinal instructee, who invited his countrymen to attend the propagational event after sharing with them what he observed about the Church Of Christ. “For the questions I had in mind, the answer came straight from the Bible. That’s the difference [from] other religions,” he said. After the Bible study, the guests were given relief packages. — With reports from INC News Section

One with the entire Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) in following its  Administration’s lead in the intensified work of propagating the gospel of salvation, the groups of brethren in Sweden jointly held an evangelical mission on May 7, 2022.

The members of the Local Congregation of Stockholm, Sweden and the group worship services (GWS) in Skanstull, Nynäshamn, and Västerås, out of love and concern, invited their friends, colleagues, and relatives to the evangelistic activity that they might also come to know and eventually follow the true and biblical way to serving the Lord leading to salvation.

Most of the brethren and their guests gathered at the Stockholm Congregation’s place of worship. Others gathered in the brethren’s homes connected through videoconferencing.

Officiating minister, Brother Oliver Naguit, the district’s Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer, expounded through the Bible on the importance of knowing the true God and joining the true Church established by His Son, Jesus Christ. He urged the guests to carefully examine further the Christian truths upheld by the Church Of Christ for the sake of their souls’ salvation on Judgment Day.

Steyr GWS brethren shares the true faith in Graz, Austria

By ANNA DULIN and RONNIE H. MUTYA

Date Posted: June 4, 2022

On May 7, 2022,  brethren from the Steyr, Austria Group Worship Services (GWS) travelled almost three hours to reach the city of Graz, approximately 110 miles distant, to propagate the words of God.

Upon arriving in Graz, the country’s second largest city, they handed out copies of Pasugo: God’s Message magazine to the people they met in various establishments in the City Center in Kärntner Str. They also took the chance to extend their invitation for the evangelical mission that day.

Held at a rented hall in Coworking zu Geidorf Villefortgasse, the evangelical mission was led by Brother Kevin Heitmann, their resident ministerial worker. A video presentation about the Church Of Christ was first shown to the guests before the study of God’s words. Using the German language, Brother Heitmann emphasized from the Bible the way man could attain salvation—by joining the true Church of Christ.

“I feel very blessed that I was able to fulfill my duty as a member of the Church Of Christ. There’s always a joy when you actively participate in any kind of activity inside the Church,” expressed Jessyrae Obana, a finance officer, who was among the brethren who actively took part in the said evangelistic event.

In an interview, Brother Heitmann explained why the brethren are earnest in sharing their faith: “True members of the Church Of Christ know that this is the commandment of our Almighty God so that many more people will come to know the truth, to truly serve God, and to attain the promised salvation,” he said. — With reports from INC News Section
