San Diego County, CA District shares faith, extends help on INC’s 108th

Date Posted: August 31, 2022

From July 24 to 27, 2022, in commemoration of the 108th anniversary of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), the Ecclesiastical District of San Diego County, California held a series of evangelical missions in various local congregations, after which INC Giving events were held wherein brethren handed out care packages and other donations to community partners such as teachers, law enforcers, and community members.

“We prepared by having a week-long devotional prayer and, at the same time, preparing all materials needed. All the congregations campaigned well through giving out invitations and posting promotional materials in the community centers and even in business bulletin boards,” said Brother Gideon King Soliman, district Light of Salvation (LOS) overseer.

Brethren from the local congregations of Temecula Valley, Hemet, North San Diego, Vista, and Spring Valley invited their friends and loved ones to the evangelical mission held in their respective houses of worship on July 24; the local congregations of South San Diego and El Cajon on the following day, July 25; and the National City Congregation on the actual day of the Church’s anniversary, July 27.

Reactions

“I really appreciate the minister going by the biblical aspect and pointing out where specifically in the Bible [he is preaching about],” said Michelle Flores from San Diego, a guest.

“I’m glad to have some teacher’s appreciation. It’s been a challenging school year so it’s nice to have a little bit of encouragement to get ready for the next school year. I appreciate it,” expressed Dorothy Ardill, one of the guest-beneficiaries, from Rancho Bernardo, California.

A police officer from San Diego, Omar Luzuriaga, shared his thoughts on the activity, “We can see the good side of the community and for the Church Of Christ to bring that and just share that light that you are giving, it’s just an amazing feeling and experience.”
