Church officers from the Ecclesiastical District of Tacloban City, Leyte were exhorted by the district leadership to follow the example of God’s Messenger in fulfilling their Church duties.

This was during their special gathering that the district supervising minister, Brother Raul Ramirez Sr., officiated at on May 10, 2026 as part of their commemoration of the 140th birth anniversary of Brother Felix Y. Manalo, whom the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) recognizes as God’s Messenger in these last days. The district  also observed its 44th founding anniversary.

Brother Raul Ramirez Sr. was at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of San Jose which served as the gathering’s main venue. Church officers from 27 other local congregations and two extensions witnessed the whole proceeding at their respective houses of worship through livestreaming.

In his Bible-based homily, the district supervising reminded the Church officers that as true servants of God, they should share the spirit of His messengers in fulfilling their sacred duties. He encouraged them that despite hindrances and hardships in life, they should remain dedicated to their duties and genuinely love and care for those under their care, for in that way they will attain the salvation on Judgment Day.

After the homily, 420 brethren were sworn in to office in various capacities. Brother Felomar Gutierrez, the district Church officers’ overseer, administered the oath-taking.

“I am grateful to the Lord God for entrusting me with this duty.” Nelson Nodalo, from the Tanauan Local Congregation, who was appointed as a leadership aide assisting in the pulpit, said. “I am fully aware that fulfilling my duty entails sacrifices, and so I promise the Lord God that I will devote myself fully to carrying out my duty in order to become an effective helper of the Church Administration in looking after the spiritual welfare of the brethren under my care.”

Jamaica Aliana de Leon, who took oath as a secretary of the Palo Local Congregation, expressed, “I found a blessing today from the Lord God as I become one of His officers in His nation in these last days. I vow to fulfill my duty wholeheartedly, as through this I would not only help the Church Administration but also, more importantly, give glory to the Lord God.”—With reports from Joey Malawit Jr.
