On July 29, 2026, a special worship service to God was held for the anniversaries of the local congregations of Honolulu and Ewa Beach in the Ecclesiastical District of Hawaii-Pacific. The said congregations reached their 58th and 31st anniversaries last July 4 and 27, 2026, respectively. Brethren from the said congregations were led in the said worship service by Brother Antonio T. de Guzman Jr., minister of the gospel.
Through videoconferencing, they witnessed his Bible-based preaching from the chapel housed in the Pilar Manalo-Danao Multimedia Center building within INC Central Office Complex, in Quezon City, Philippines. The event’s proceedings were also beamed live to five other congregations, namely, Pearl City, Kalihi, Maili, Wailuku, and Wahiawa.
In his Bible-based homily, Brother de Guzman reminded the brethren to remain true and faithful servants of God until the end despite the current situation in the world and the many problems they face in life. He also urged them to consistently lead a life worthy of the gospel and stand firm in the faith because salvation is at hand.
“This worship service is very special for us. We are all the more inspired by the message of the lesson taught to us, that is, to be strong in our faith and to continue fulfilling our duties and worshiping the Lord God whatever trials we may face in life,” said Almar Antonio, deacon from Ewa Beach Congregation.
“During the worship service, I really feel good because I really love being a Church Of Christ member. I learned in the worship service that I have to be firm and steadfast in the faith so that I will attain the promised salvation come Judgment Day,” said Merlinda Impelido, deaconess from the same congregation.
“I’m really blessed and thankful for the Church Administration’s continuous love for us,” said Estelita Balason, also a deaconess from the same congregation. She has been a deaconess for 46 years now.
“This special worship service for the anniversaries of the Honolulu and Ewa Beach congregations speaks of how much the Church Administration wants the brethren even here in Hawaii to be strong and steadfast in the faith, especially now that the day of our salvation is near. The spiritual blessings that the brethren received today in the special gathering all the more inspire them to remain united with the Church Administration in doing the things that please our Almighty God,” Brother Gem Baitan, district supervising minister, said in an interview.
The said congregations are two of the 11 congregations the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) maintains in the island of Oahu, Hawaii. — With reports from Eraño Biong
