With God’s help, the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) now has a congregation in Scotland. On May 1, 2026, the first worship service marking the establishment of the Glasgow Congregation was held at Glenburn Community Centre in Fairway Avenue, Glenburn, Paisley. It was officiated at by Brother Romeo Anthony Peña, the district supervising minister.
In his Bible-based homily, Brother Peña emphasized that Church Of Christ members, being the fruits of the works of Brother Felix Y. Manalo, God’s Messenger in these last days, are truly blessed for they received the right to serve the Lord God, and are certain of receiving the promised salvation. Brother Peña then exhorted the brethren to remain faithful to their divine calling, and wherever they may be, they ought to fulfill their duties for the glory of God.
“I used to travel by train to Manchester every time I had to attend worship services,” shared Rosalinda Spowart, pioneer member. “I was overwhelmed upon learning that the Executive Minister approved that a congregation be established in this part of the world.”
Joshua Hipo, choir member, expressed that “It’s very humbling to see how the Church that came from one man who faced various challenges has come to what it is now.”
“We are thankful to God for He answered our prayer that a congregation be established in this country,” enthused Marc Tuazon, head deacon. “This is a great opportunity for us to introduce the Church to more people in Scotland. By doing so, more people will have the opportunity to be among those who will be saved on Judgment Day.”
“The establishment of the Glasgow Congregation has greatly strengthened the faith of the brethren as it is a clear proof that God continues to fulfill His promise that He will not forsake His people. The Church Administration can expect that no matter what happens, the brethren from the local congregation of Glasgow will all the more become active in serving God and in uniting with the Church Administration,” stated Brother Glenn Gomez, resident minister.
Prior to being elevated to local congregation status, Glasgow started as a group worship service which was part of the Manchester Congregation on January 28, 2009. Brethren used to hold worship services at Woodside Hall in 36 Glenfarg Street, Glasgow. Then, the worship services were transferred to White House Hall in 20 Nielston Road, Paisley, Renfrewshire until the Church Administration approved the establishment of the said congregation. Succeeding worship services will be held in the same venue.
