Grand Cayman Island Congregation, under the supervision of the Ecclesiastical District of Caribbean, continues to grow as the brethren’s efforts in propagating the true faith led to yet another baptism which was held on March 22, 2025.

Prior to their baptism, the prospective members, together with the brethren instrumental in their conversion, listened to the preaching of God’s words by the district supervising minister, Brother Garry Garcia, streamed live from the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Miami, Florida. The attendees were gathered at Grand Cayman Island Congregation’s place of worship located in George Town, British West Indies, Grand Cayman Island, Cayman Island.

Brother Garcia’s Bible-based homily underscored the importance of receiving the true baptism and always following all the teachings of God, such as remaining active members of the true Church, to receive His promised salvation on Judgment Day. After the study of God’s words, the candidates for baptism took their oath of membership. They then proceeded to the baptismal site. The baptism was administered by Brother Alain Castro.

“Activities, like this baptism, continue to show that we follow what the Lord Jesus Christ commands: to preach the gospel to everyone and that those who believe and are baptized will be saved,” said Brother Castro in an interview. “In addition, we show our complete unity within the Church Of Christ by further intensifying the work of sharing our faith.”

“My friends would invite me to listen to the teachings upheld in the Church Of Christ,” narrated newly baptized member Jerson Aguilar Agdeppa. “And what attracted me to this Church is its activities in helping other people through socio-civic events. When I heard the [biblical] lessons about the prohibitions to eat blood and idol worship, I became curious so I continued listening. Now I’ve reached this day of my baptism,” he added.

Asked what keeps her inspired to share the faith, deaconess Erlinda Tayab said that “To spread God’s words in order to save people from believing in false teachings is among the commandments of our Lord God written in the Bible.”

A “Welcome, My Brethren” activity was conducted after the baptism at the congregation’s function hall. There, the Church officers warmly welcomed the newly baptized, encouraging them to participate with the many upcoming activities of the congregation.

“I’m happy that I’m now a member of the Church Of Christ,” Merly Dumlao Juan expressed, adding, “I will share the biblical teachings that I’ve learned in the Church to my friends and loved ones who are not yet members, so that they, too, will have a chance to receive salvation when Judgment Day comes.” — With reports from Renee Suarez of INC News Section
