Church officers in the ecclesiastical districts of Rosales, Pangasinan and Quezon City, both in the Philippines, respectively took part in various activities on June 23 and July 5, 2026 all aimed at enhancing their skills in chronicling.
Quezon City
In the Ecclesiastical District of Quezon City, a coaching and consultation session was held at the multipurpose hall of the Capitol Congregation’s house of worship.
During the activity, Brother Lucky Alcantara, district chronicler, discussed the importance of and the proper procedures in chronicling Church activities. He also imparted knowledge on the methods used in gathering and preserving vital data.
Prior to the activity, an awarding ceremony for the district’s Photo Essay competition was held. Named winners for each category were Batasan Hills 1 Congregation (propagation), Capitol Congregation (edification), Amparo Congregation (socio-civic), and Novaliches Congregation (Christian Family Organizations).
Hiera Mangubat, local chronicler of Capitol Congregation, shared, “It is necessary to have utmost care in chronicling the historical events happening in our local congregation. We do this because we want to ensure the accuracy of the information that we submit to the Church Administration but also to be of help in inspiring the brethren to uphold their faith.”
“It is vital for every chronicler to have a deep understanding of their duties in order to effectively chronicle the significant events being held in their respective congregations,” explained Brother Alcantara. “We continue encouraging them to hone the skills they have in order for them to responsibly fulfill their duty.”
Rosales, Pangasinan
In the Local Congregation of Rosales, Ecclesiastical District of Rosales, Pangasinan, a historical awareness seminar was held at their congregation’s house of worship.
“Brethren and officers must have historical awareness. With this, they will be able to do their part so that even the future generations of Church members will trust and rely on what God can do for them,” explained Brother Almar Cargo, district chronicler.
Among the topics Brother Cargo discussed were the importance of chronicling significant events in the Church, and proper documentation of such events using methods prescribed by the Church Administration.
Afterwards, Brother King Rudolph Diaz, resident minister, delivered a Bible-based lecture exhorting the brethren to always keep in their hearts and minds the awe-inspiring deeds of the Lord God to His people and calling on them to impart such experiences to the younger generations of His nation.
“This seminar indeed broadened my knowledge on chronicling which will be of great help in the performance of my duty,” expressed Cheryl Lee Licudan, local congregation chronicler.
Tee Jay Flores, a head deacon, shared, “I learned how preserving the historical records in our congregation helps in further strengthening the faith of the brethren.”
In another interview, Alfredo Raña, deacon, expressed, “I promise that I will continue imparting to my children and grandchildren the wonderful deeds that God has bestowed upon us as proof of His love for His people.” — With reports from Blaise Angeli Hidalgo
