The ecclesiastical districts of Paniqui, Tarlac and Batac City, Ilocos Norte in Luzon, Philippines held blood donations on August 15 and 16, 2026, respectively.

In Paniqui, hundreds of brethren gathered at the Camiling Sports Complex in Tarlac for the socio-civic activity. They went through a health screening before the blood extraction, both of which were facilitated by medical practitioners from the Tarlac Provincial Hospital and Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) volunteers working hand in hand.

“Aside from saving lives by maintaining a safe blood supply for patients, the screening process identifies health concerns of donors like anemia while the body naturally generates new red blood cells after blood extraction,” Lilet Basilio, medical intern in the aforementioned hospital, stated. “We encourage eligible individuals to participate in activities like this.”

A total of 112 volunteers, who passed the screening, donated blood to the said hospital.

“Because many people are in need of blood, I decided to try donating blood even though I’m getting up there in age,” said Agrifina Dugay, 70 year-old deaconess from the Local Congregation of Amacalan, a first-time blood donor.

Meanwhile, the Batac City, Ilocos Norte District conducted the blood donation event at the Paoay Civic Center. A total of 274 brethren volunteers registered and underwent health screening. CMDPS members and medical staff from Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital & Medical Center facilitated the health screening and blood extraction.

After the health screening, 87 brethren qualified. Roma Andrea Bringas, finance officer from the Local Congregation of Nueva Era and a first-time donor, expressed: “I was nervous at first but as the brethren in the medical field explained, blood donation is actually good for the donor. What I love most about this is being able to help my fellowmen.”

Brother Allan J. Ladera, district supervising minister, who was present in the activity explained that “The purpose of this blood donation drive is for us to follow God’s will to help our fellowmen, as donating blood helps other people.”— With assistance from Vily Ramon Ramos and Roldan Maninang
