Following the completion of their house of worship’s renovation, the members of the Local Congregation of Lucbuan resumed holding worship services therein beginning August 8, 2026.

Palawan District supervising minister, Brother Esmeraldo S. Sibuma, officiated at the special worship service.

In his homily, he reminded the brethren of God’s will regarding marriage, exhorting the married brethren to uphold their responsibilities to their respective spouses to have a blessed union and family. He also encouraged the attendees that amid the world’s worsening conditions, they could seek refuge in God within the house of worship.

After the sermon, Brother Jovilito Manuba, assistant district supervising minister, led the closing prayer.

“It is truly inevitable that over time, houses of worship will undergo wear and tear, that is why the Church Administration [repairs] and restores houses of worship,” Brother Sibuma explained in an interview. “The brethren [from Lucbuan] are overjoyed and promise to … care … for their house of worship.”

Located along Puerto Princesa North Road, Brgy. Lucbuan, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, the newly renovated 200-seater house of worship features significant upgrades, such as a new sound system and a Technical Support for Videostreaming (TSV) room. A separate structure for offices, as well as a guardhouse, were also renovated for the congregation.

“I was baptized in this place back in 1962,” recalled pioneer member, Sanita Caabay Bayron, a 74-year-old deaconess. “My father wholeheartedly donated a parcel of land where the former house of worship was built. Not long after, the Church bought the lot where the newly renovated one now stands.”

“I made sure to attend this occasion in this local congregation where I was first listed,” shared Police Master Sergeant Chiquito Delos Santos who is from the Puerto Princesa Congregation. “When I was still here, I remember when Typhoon Odette devastated the area. No houses were left standing except the house of worship. With it being renovated speaks of the brethren’s faith fortified by trials in life, all through God’s help.”

“As our house of worship has become even more beautiful and modern, we will all the more dedicate ourselves to worshiping God,” said resident ministerial worker, Brother Jhon Erick Vega, on behalf of the brethren.
