SAN PABLO CITY, Laguna — Hundreds of Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC or Church Of Christ) members joined a Clean-up drive of the area surrounding the scenic Sampaloc Lake on February 1, 2025.

The INC volunteers, wearing white INC Giving shirts, worked together to clean the walkway around Sampaloc Lake, one of City’s seven beautiful lakes and a favorite spot for joggers, cyclists, and families. The activity aims to help make the place more welcoming for local residents as well as tourists, according to Berlin Maliwanag, Resident Minister of San Pablo City Congregation.

“We hope other organizations will follow the INC’s example in helping maintain the cleanliness of [Sampaloc] Lake and the whole city. The INC shows us the power of unity in preserving the beauty of our surroundings,” said Marilou Sanchez, a City Waste Management Employee.

Other local residents also expressed their appreciation for the INC’s initiative.

“Keeping this place clean is crucial for everyone’s health. A clean environment helps prevent the spread of diseases,” said local resident and Church officer Ian Carpena.

Chris Amarille, the INC minister overseeing family organizations in San Pablo City District, explained that the clean-up drive is a testament to the Church’s commitment to environmental care and community service—principles instilled by the INC Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo.

The Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) is a Christian religion in more than 165 countries and territories. It is composed of members from more than 150 different ethnicities and nationalities.
