In the New York Ecclesiastical District, the officers of the Children’s Worship Service (CWS) held a CWS Field Day on July 12, 2026, at the open field in Johnsonville, Connecticut.
Brother Sheridohn Santos, district supervising minister, and his family joined the activity as well. His fellow ministers who constitute the district leadership, together with their respective households, were likewise present.
Brother Jason Flores, district Christian Family Organizations overseer, led the prayer before the activity commenced.
CWS members bonded with one another and their parents through the event. They enjoyed playing traditional street or playground games, such as patintero (block the runner), tumbang preso (knock down the can), and piko (hopscotch). They also had fun competing in tug-of-war, balloon relay, and more.
Sharing her joy, Anaya Samuelle Doliente, a CWS choir member from the Bellmore, New York Congregation said, “I was very happy because friendships were formed between me and fellow CWS members from other congregations. The games were all enjoyable for us.”
“Activities like this fulfill my earnest desire as a mom of a four-year-old: that my daughter grows up active in Church activities and that she be surrounded by faithful brethren,” enthused Gemma Stirba of the Windham, Connecticut Congregation.
“It was very uplifting to see the children spend quality time with each other as brethren,” expressed Brother Lordan Ignacio, a minister of the gospel assigned in the Forest Hills, New York Congregation, in a separate interview.
After the activity, Brother Neil Omelda, assistant district supervising minister, led the closing prayer.
“We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to God and the Church Administration for continuously organizing meaningful activities like the CWS Field Day,” expressed Catherine Joy Doliente, a local secretary from the Bellmore Congregation. She added, “This helped us as parents encourage our children to remain spiritually active and create lasting memories with fellow brethren to increase their love for the brotherhood.” — With assistance from Chad J.
