To mark the 80th anniversary of the Local Congregation of Balanga, Ecclesiastical District of Bataan South, four activities were held, namely, a special gathering led by Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) General Secretary Brother Rene J. Panoncillo, an INC Museum Tour, a clean-up drive, and an INConcert.
The Museum Tour was held on February 21, 2025. Delegates from the local congregation traveled approximately two hours to the INC Museum, along Central Avenue, Quezon City for the said activity. At the museum, the brethren saw through various exhibits presenting how the Church started and progressed in its nascent years up to its present glorious stature, all made possible through God’s help. They also heard a part of the preaching of God’s messenger in these last days, Brother Felix Y. Manalo.
The following day, the brethren attended the special gathering at their house of worship that was officiated by Brother Panoncillo. During his homily, he highlighted the importance of being and remaining in the true religion until the end, that is, to please God Who will endow unto them salvation on Judgment Day. He also conveyed to the brethren a message from the Executive Minister Brother Eduardo V. Manalo.
Earlier that day, a clean-up drive was held at Doña Francisca Park, Balanga City. Bringing with them cleaning implements, the brethren did their best to tidy up the park, bringing delight to the park-goers.
On March 2, the INConcert was held. A part of the Peninsula Electric Cooperative, Inc. (PENELCO) office building served as the venue. Prior to the musical performances, brethren were first treated to a photo exhibit featuring the congregation’s notable activities through the years. It was preceded by the ribbon-cutting ceremony led by district supervising minister Brother Melvin Cayabyab and wife Cristina.
During the INConcert, Church officers of the congregation’s various departments gave their best in showcasing their rendition of Iglesia Ni Cristo original songs either as a solo or choral performance. All in attendance also enjoyed each other’s company over dinner.
“The brethren’s unity and zealously fulfilling of Church duties have been evident,” attested one of the congregation’s pioneer and deacon, 78-year-old Felimon Angeles Jr. On their behalf, he added, “We will continue uniting with all activities in the Church, especially in sharing our faith, as our way of remaining active in our services to God.”
Established in February 1945, the Balanga Congregation was instrumental in establishing six other local congregations, namely, Bagac (1946), San Antonio (1951), Liyang (1953), Gen Lim (1958), Camacho (1965), and Marcos (1971).
