On September 12, 2026, representatives from the Research and Information Section (RIS) of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) facilitated a training-workshop for chronicler coaches from the three ecclesiastical districts in the island of Cebu—Bogo City, Carcar City, and Cebu City. The activity was held at the Synergia Building in Lapu-Lapu City.

Brother Eraño Quinitio, RIS overseeing minister, oversaw the event. Fellow ministers from the RIS, Brothers Gilbert Hachenova and Zebedee Juanta, facilitated the training workshop. Brother Jomar B. Dueñas, Cebu City, Cebu District supervising minister, delivered the keynote address.

“We truly appreciate the Church Administration for sending us ministers who traveled all the way from Manila to equip us with knowledge and skills for the betterment of the performance of our duties,” expressed Brother Jenard U. Armas, Cebu City, Cebu District chronicler.

Prescribed methods in reference citation, chronicling entries, and photo captioning highlighted the training workshop, after which chronicler coaches were able to practice applying them and presenting them in front of their fellow attendees for feedbacks and suggestions.

Asked about her key takeaways from the training workshop, Maria Josephine Belicena of the Dalaguete Congregation in Carcar City, Cebu District, said, “Diligently keeping the history book updated, as well as the rules and regulations we ought to observe upon doing so.”

Before the activity concluded, Brother Quinitio delivered a Bible-based lecture highlighting biblical events that resonate the value of chronicling significant Church events.

“Being a chronicler is a vital duty as the Bible attests,” shared Janine Maritel Cueva of the Bantayan Congregation in Bogo City, Cebu District. “My being fond of history inspires me all the more to search and understand meticulously the Church’s history and events, especially in our area, and never take them for granted,” she added.

Jennieveeb Chaves, a chronicler coach from the Cordova Congregation in Cebu City, Cebu District, promised to “value all the lessons and skills we received from our training, even those that will still be taught to us in the future, to remain helpful to the Church Administration in this field of our services to God.”
