Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members in the Local Congregation Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea (PNG), Ecclesiastical District of Victoria, Australia held an evangelical mission at their house of worship on April 14, 2026 and Bible missions at five neighboring villages the day after.
Brother Manuel Villapañe Jr., assistant district supervising minister, officiated at the evangelistic event.
He taught from the Bible that the true Church Of Christ is the only Church wherein salvation on Judgment Day is rest assured. Taking into account how Noah’s ark saved his family from the great deluge, it is by joining and remaining an active member of the Church Of Christ—nowhere else—that man can be saved from the perdition come the end of the world.
Considering the extraordinary events around the globe, Brother Villapañe reminded the guests to be aware of these, being signs of the end times as attested to by the Savior Himself, the Lord Jesus Christ. Now that they have known the way to salvation, they must not hesitate to do God’s will that must be done. After all, it is their salvation that is at stake.
“We thank the Lord God that amid the crises in this world, the brethren are able to uphold their duties to Him. One is sharing the true faith. Today even if the weather was inclement, the faithful were not hindered in fulfilling their obligation to God,” Brother Villapañe said in an interview afterwards.
“Purely biblical,” observed a guest, Vianca Espartinez, of the evangelical mission. “The lesson was so clear and instructive. I believe that inside this Church I can know more about God’s words I need to obey for me to secure my salvation.” Espartinez enlisted herself as a doctrinal instructee not long after.
The Bible missions the following day were all led by Brother Conrado Regala Jr., Port Moresby resident minister. The neighboring villages were Kipu, Manuti, Gerehu, Erima, and Morata, all in PNG. There, from 2PM to 6 PM, they consecutively went.
In all five open space venues, Brother Regala was assisted by Brother Carlo Pabale, a ministerial worker, in preaching the gospel. Right after Brother Pabale’s quoting the English Bible, Brother Regala would read the same verses in the Pidgin Bible, thereby emphasizing God’s will to all and sundry and delivering it in a more understandable manner, that is, using their fellowmen’s native tongue.
According to the local congregation’s secretariat, many PNG nationals expressed their desire to know more about the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), others of them even anticipating already the next Bible study at their area. — With assistance from Loreen Quiñola
