With the aim of fostering the love of brotherhood to the brethren with disabilities, officers of the Christian Society for Differently-abled (CSD), an organization under the Christian Family Organizations (CFO), in the Ecclesiastical District of Northeast California hosted a CFO Cares for the differently-abled.
This was held at the function hall of the Local Congregation of Sacramento on May 31, 2026.
Brother Wilfredo Santos, assistant district supervising minister, delivered the opening remarks following the opening prayer led by Brother Keith Lawrence Guingab, district CSD adviser.
Afterwards, the attendees proceeded to the interactive booths such as American Sign Language (ASL) Tutorial, Sensory Dough, Stepping Stone Obstacle Course, Puzzle Relay, and Ring Toss. They participated in the interactive games prepared by CSD officers such as Sign Language Relay and Guess the Sign.
The attendees were also serenaded by talented brethren who performed their rendition of INC original music such as “May I Always Be True,” “Stay Strong,” “God’s Messenger In These Last Days,” and “Thank You, Lord For Everything.”
After the performances, Brother Pedro Dela Cruz Jr., district supervising minister, delivered the closing remarks. “The purpose of this activity is to give importance to the brethren with disabilities and let them feel the brotherhood in the Church Of Christ. Socializing with other brethren will let them realize how good it is to be a member of the Church and that the Church caters to all people regardless of their condition or whatever situation they may be in,” he said.
Then, Brother Dela Cruz and Brother Santos led the giving of CFO Cares goodie bags, which were filled with sensory toys, snacks, drinks, notebooks, and pens.
“I am very thankful for activities like this because I can feel the love of the Church Administration for us and our children,” Bridget Gumayagay, a parent and a choir member from the Local Congregation of Livermore. “This is also a good opportunity to meet and talk with other parents with children with disabilities.”
“This activity inspires me to use even more my passion to help people with disabilities, especially in helping them understand the words of God,” said Keanna Bradshaw, district CSD president and a sign language interpreter for four years now.
The activity concluded with a closing prayer led by Brother Nimrod Pantaleon, district CFO overseer.
