On March 27 and 29, 2026, the Ecclesiastical District of Mindoro Oriental held a baptism and an evangelical mission, respectively, resulting in more people joining the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), if not just learning about the biblical doctrines it upholds.
Baptism
The baptismal gathering was held at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Bucayao with Brother Joel Santiago, district supervising minister, officiating.
In the study of God’s words, Brother Santiago highlighted the importance of receiving the true baptism. He detailed from the Bible how those who receive it gain the right not only to worship and serve God but, more importantly, to be saved on the nearing Judgment Day.
After the homily, the would-be members took their oath of membership, led by Brother Jomar Corpuz, district edification overseer, before being immersed in water for the baptism proper.
Newly baptized member Teresita Cuarto from the Local Congregation of Beaumont enthused, “I thank the Lord God for calling me into the Church Of Christ. I receive great blessings from Him, and I promise to take care of my membership with all my heart and utmost dedication.”
Another newly baptized member, Marvin Sanchez from the Calapan Congregation said, “Words are not enough of how thankful I am to the Lord God for calling me into His fold. Despite all the hardships I went through, God has never forsaken me and allowed me to reach my baptism. It is truly a great blessing, and I will treasure it until the end.”
On March 29, the Local Congregation of Bayanan hosted an evangelical mission at its house of worship, which was officiated by Brother Gary Gulbin, district Light Of Salvation (LOS) overseer.
In his Bible-based lesson, he emphasized the importance of joining the Iglesia Ni Cristo to receive salvation on Judgment Day.
Many guests were able to listen to the pristine words of God. Among them was Kim Jay Viaña, who said, “I’m thankful to have been invited to the evangelical mission. I’ve learned that a person needs to enter the Church to be saved. I hope to learn more about the doctrines of the INC.”
“Based on the lesson preached, I’ve come to realize that the Lord Jesus Christ commands people to enter His flock, or the Church Of Christ, to receive salvation,” said another guest, Alma Doctor. — With reports from Crispin Fesalbon
