Members of the Local Congregation of Amungan in the Ecclesiastical District of Zambales North, Philippines, conducted an evangelical mission in commemoration of the 85th anniversary of their local congregation’s establishment.

On June 16, 2024, the exact date of the congregation’s 85th anniversary, brethren united in sharing the true faith.

They brought around 200 guests in the evangelical mission that was held in their house of worship.

Brother Rodel Revisa, district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer, delivered a Bible-based lesson about the true Church’s being the means to receive salvation through Christ. By citing biblical verse, he showed to the guests that the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) is the one that the Savior will save on Judgment Day.

“I understood that as Judgment Day draws near, it is necessary for people to return to God, and in our time, this can only be done by entering the Church Of Christ,” stated a guest by the name of Joselito Conde, who later on decided to become a doctrinal instructee.

Five days earlier, on June 11, the congregation’s members celebrated its anniversary also by having get-together at the plaza of Barangay Amungan.

They were treated to heartening renditions of Iglesia Ni Cristo original music by talented brethren.

Besides this, a brief history of their local congregation was read, giving added inspiration especially to the young members how the brethren before them upheld their faith and Church works, with the help of the Lord. It was narrated by Adonias Ebitner, a head deacon.

“I am happy to be among those who were able to perform as part of our congregation’s 85th anniversary celebration,” expressed Edgardo Panuga, choir leader, finance officer, and group overseer. “Looking back at everything that our local congregation went through, one thing is for sure—our Lord God is the One Who helped us remain firm.”

Brother Bryan Torales, the congregation’s resident minister, stated that through the activities held in commemoration of the congregation’s anniversary, “the brethren were able to express their thankfulness and give glory to God.” He added that the activities “brought inspiration to the brethren, and gave them hope that God will continue to be with them the same way He did for the past 85 years as long as they remain faithful to Him.” — With reports from Melma Doloritos
