Christian Family Organizations (CFO) officers and members in the Ecclesiastical District of Bataan, Philippines, volunteered for a CFO Cares event and blood donation drive. These they both held at Sabang Covered Court in Morong, Bataan on October 3, 2026.
In the CFO Cares, the brethren pooled their efforts in handing out vitamins and medicines, and providing check-up—all for free—to the residents of Brgy. Sabang, even extending to that of neighboring local congregations.
“The humanitarian programs launched by the Church Administration are vital during these times of escalating hardship when medicines and medical treatments have become very expensive,” said Brother Jerson Galvez, district CFO overseer. Our fellowmen receive proper care tailored to their specific ailments based on the evaluation of attending physicians.”
“Dealing with … costly daily medications is a heavy burden for a family living on a modest daily income,” remarked Noel Laquian, Buklod member from the Local Congregation of Luacan. “The free medicines provided by the Church Administration have been a tremendous help to me and my family, and we’re grateful for remembering us with this blessing.”
Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) and Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN) members led the volunteers in the blood donation activity.
“The Iglesia Ni Cristo conducts blood donation drives to fulfill the biblical teaching to love our neighbors by helping anyone in need, members and nonmembers alike,” explained Lino Cueto, assistant district supervising minister.
CDMPS members conducted the health screening while medical staff from Jose B. Lingad General Hospital facilitated the blood extraction. A total of 102 donors came forward; the same number of blood bags were collected.
“Even before joining the Church, I regularly donated blood to patients and those in need, a responsibility that became even more vital after my conversion into the Church because, as taught in the Bible, blood is life,” shared Edgardo Magbanua, SCAN member from Morong Congregation. “Donating blood not only brings me joy in helping other people—especially fellow Church members—but also keeps my body healthy and normal, for which I thank the Lord God for blessing me with strength.”
“I extend my gratitude to the Iglesia Ni Cristo for partnering with our hospital for this blood donation drive, which will help numerous patients because a single unit of blood can save up to three lives,” said Dr. Rachelle Anne Alfaro, blood bank physician from the said hospital. “Conducting these drives is important since the steady demand for blood never stops, especially for patients undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, dialysis, or battling cancer and blood disorders.” — With assistance from Efren Cecille Hipolito and Annabele Penuliar
