Lagao Congregation, the oldest congregation in the Ecclesiastical District of General Santos City, South Cotabato District, Philippines, recently reached its 80th year. To commemorate this milestone, an INConcert was held on August 23, 2026, at Lagao Central Elementary School’s covered court.

The activity began after Brother Jomar Denatil, local Christian Family Organizations overseer, said the opening prayer and the opening remarks.

Colorful and energetic performances by selected brethren featured various INC original songs like the following: Gusaling Sambahan, Kay Ganda (House Of Worship, So Beautiful) by IGSN, the congregation’s rock band; Hahawakang Mahigpit Ang Pag-asa (Hold On Firmly To The Hope) by BUKLOD choir; God’s Love by IGSN; Ang Pag-awit Sa Iyo Ay Kaaliwan (Singing To You Is My Joy) by KADIWA and Binhi choir; Magdiwang Tayo (Let Us Celebrate) by Hannah Rose Angela Bales, Gem Odeza Nesthea Wales, Nicah Shayne Madayag; Kapatid, Tara Na (Brethren, Let’s Go) by Jerwin Palaca; and Happy Victory by all the performers.

Audio-visual presentations were also shown during the program narrating the congregation’s history—its establishment and growth throughout the years. Also, remaining pioneer members were given a tribute by presenting them on stage and handing them roses.

Before the program’s conclusion, Brother Jeriel Z. Desabille, resident ministerial worker, delivered his closing remarks. Then Brother Chamberlain Palapar, minister of the gospel, led the prayer.

Attendees of the said activity first visited the photo exhibit highlighting the congregation’s humble beginnings, pioneer members, and various activities held through the years. It was mounted within the venue’s compound.

Brother Eugenio P. Capanpan Jr., the district supervising minister, along with other ministers and ministerial workers in the district, graced the event with his presence.

Reactions

“Through the activity, I remembered how our congregation started with only a few members and how we stood our ground in serving God and propagating the truth despite the severe persecution then including people pelting our place of worship with rocks during gatherings,” recalled pioneer member, Reynaldo Guinto. “Praises be to God for He never forsook us and thus achieving our present stature.”

“We are truly happy for the success of this activity,” expressed Nikka Marie Israel, choir member and among the event organizers. “We firmly believe that it is God who helped from our preparation to its execution,” she added.

For Brother Desabille, the activity “not only brought joy to the Church members here, but further inspired them to stay strong in the faith in many more years to come.
