With the aim to extend compassion to their fellowmen, brethren from Quezon City Ecclesiastical District conducted two blood donation drives.

The first one was held at SM City Novaliches in Barangay San Bartolome on August 8, 2026, which was spearheaded by district Buklod officers, while the second was at Doña Carmen Multipurpose Hall in Barangay Commonwealth on August 22, which was sponsored by the Payatas Congregation.

Both events were held in collaboration with the Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) and the INC Social Services Office (SSO). Also present were representatives from Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and Sanitarium in Caloocan City, and Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital in San Fernando City, Pampanga on the first day, and Philippine Blood Center in Quezon City on the second.

Hundreds of volunteer donors flocked the two events. In each venue, they underwent health screening which were facilitated by medical practitioners from the partner institutions and CMDPS volunteers. In total, 251 blood units were collected.

District supervising minister, Brother Virgilio A. Del Rosario Sr., explained that the said socio-civic activity was held “as an expression of the Church Of Christ’s concern to our fellowmen especially now that many are in need of blood units to be used to address their medical conditions.”

A first-time donor, Sophia Moscoso, choir member from Novaliches Congregation, enthused, “I am truly happy for I was able to take part in this activity which will benefit more people in the future.” In another interview, Children’s Worship Service teacher, Nelmar Pineda, from Payatas Congregation, shared, “By participating in this activity, I am able to fulfill God’s command to love our fellowmen.” — With reports from Mark Gil Angeles and Jobelle Ivy Vergara
