In commemoration of the 108th anniversary of the Children’s Worship Service (CWS), officers from the Ecclesiastical District of Marikina, in the Philippines, attended a special gathering at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Bayan-bayanan. It was led by Brother Cyrus Jose Dizon, district supervising minister. After the homily, 68 new CWS officers were sworn into office by Brother Alejandro Taguines, district Church officers overseer.
In his preaching of God’s words, Brother Dizon emphasized the significance of the officers’ remaining united in God’s purpose of placing them in the Church in proving their love for God. Aside from faithfully fulfilling their respective duties, they ought to continuously uphold love of the brotherhood, among other biblical teachings of God, to become good role models before their brethren.
“I feel joyful because during this gathering, we are able to receive the words of God that will all the more strengthen us in our services to Him,” said Dexter Sulit, CWS officer from Marikina Centro Congregation. “Being a CWS officer is important because I am able to help the Church Administration in teaching and guiding the young chosen ones.”
“I accepted a duty in the Church because I want to please the Lord God and be of help to the Church Administration. This duty is a gift not from mere men but from God. Dedicating myself to my duty is the proof of my love for Him,” said Baby Ruth Festin from SSS Village Congregation, a CWS teacher for 17 years now. She is also a newly sworn-in CWS Committee vice chairperson. “It is very fulfilling that I am able to teach and inspire the young brethren to be active in attending the worship services and be steadfast in the faith.” — With reports from Claidenn Villar
