MARSEILLE, France — Various special activities including a “Neighborhood Appreciation Day”, a special concert, and a beach clean-up were conducted by members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC or Church Of Christ) in the Ecclesiastical District of Western Europe to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the Church.

The Neighborhood Appreciation Day was held on July 28, 2024 at the Florida Palace located at 162 Bd Mireille Lauza, 132 Marseille, in France.

Various booths were set up offering neighbors, visitors and other invited guests free school supplies, and a chance to have their family photos taken. There were also free blood pressure monitoring and free blood sugar monitoring. Many availed of these free health services and expressed appreciation to the INC for offering these to their guests.

“I availed of the free medical check-up and it was a wonderful experience. I’m looking forward to attending more INC events in the future,” said Chandra Hemawathie, one of the guests at the event.

Attendees also availed of the free haircut and also enjoyed the free makeup tutorials. There were also a variety of games including darts, chess, basketball, air hockey, Jenga, among others that families and other guests enjoyed.  There were food stalls that offered free snacks, sweet treats and refreshments.

The Neighborhood Appreciation Day in Marseille, which started at 1 p.m. and ended at around 4 p.m., attracted visitors from neighboring cities and villages.

After that, a concert was held at another hall inside the Florida Palace. The concert featured original INC music performed by singers and dancers who came from France, Monaco, Switzerland and Belgium.

The next day, July 29, Monday, INC members in the district conducted a beach clean-up at the La Plage, in Marseille as part of their community service.

All these activities exemplified the Iglesia Ni Cristo’s dedication to fostering community spirit and caring for its members and neighbors.

These activities are “in accordance with the doctrines of the Church Of Christ upholding the biblical teaching to love one’s fellow man as one loves himself, and to do good to others whenever this is possible,” explained Brother Marvin Adriano, an INC minister in the Ecclesiastical District of Western Europe.

The Iglesia Ni Cristo’s 110th anniversary on July 27, 2024 was celebrated worldwide by INC members who also conducted various community service activities to show their care and appreciation to their fellowmen.

The Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) is a religious organization in more than 165 countries and territories. It is composed of members from more than 150 different ethnicities and nationalities.
