The Ecclesiastical District of Greater Toronto has further expanded, establishing the Local Congregation of Forest Hill, which held its first worship service on July 9, 2024. The gathering was held at a rented property at 24 Sable St., North York, Ontario. Succeeding worship services will be held at the same venue.
Prior to the establishment of the said congregation, brethren from Forest Hill, a neighborhood in Midtown Toronto, had to attend worship services with the Local Congregation of Midtown Toronto, which is more than four kilometers away.
Brother Raul Adalla, district supervising minister, officiated at the sacred gathering. He emphasized the biblical teaching on the importance of doing things that please the Almighty God, among which are remaining active in worshiping Him, and being in responsive obedience to all of His commands.
Also conducted during the inaugural worship service were the oath-taking of pioneering set of officers.
“We are thanking our Lord God for blessing us, and being established as a local congregation, through the leadership of Brother Eduardo V. Manalo,” expressed Alwin Brioso, choir leader.
Isaiah Macam, newly sworn in Technical Support for Videostreaming (TSV) lead, said that the establishment of the said congregation “is a manifestation that the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) is expanding.”
Brother Gibrl Legaspi, resident minister, stated that this inaugural worship service “is memorable. We can see that all the brethren and the officers are happy because this is another milestone of the Church in this part of the world.” Regarding their activeness in the faith, he went on saying “we continue to do this because, as people of our Lord God, we want to continue pleasing Him.” — With reports from INC News Section
