Two ecclesiastical districts in the Philippines, one in Mindanao, another in Luzon, organized a socializing activity for prospective members and doctrinal instructees under their care on April 28, 2024.
Church members from the Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur and the Zambales North Districts showed some love for the would-be members, making them feel welcomed to the Christian brotherhood.
In Zambales North, the attendees convened at the Baywalk Covered Court in Masinloc town, Zambales, while those in Pagadian City in every local congregation’s selected venues.
The said events featured fun games and musical performances, among others, aimed at building strong brotherly ties and camaraderie.
Marlo Capitin, a prospective member from the Napolan Congregation in Pagadian City said that “being remembered like this is truly a wonderful blessing even though I am only an ordinary person. It feels very rewarding for me.”
“Everyone was accommodating. This activity all the more encouraged me to stay active in the faith,” said Princess Diane Ebbay, a doctrinal instructee from the Masinloc Congregation in Zambales.
Carla Mae Jose, a choir member from the Local Congregation of Palauig, observed that “the activity has made our prospective members smile and feel good despite enduring hardships and persecution they might’ve been experiencing as they stay active in the faith.” She added, “I hope they are further inspired to carry on with their membership inside the Church Of Christ.”
“This activity has given me a greater sense of responsibility when it comes to taking care of our prospective members, especially now that we are in trying times,” said Irene Saladaga, a deaconess from Napolan. “This activity has not only made me joyful but all the more inspired as I continue performing my divine duties to God.” — With reports from INC News Section
