The Local Congregation of Wao in the Ecclesiastical District of Don Carlos, Bukidnon, recently celebrated its 70th anniversary by conducting a series of activities for their edification and for the propagation of the faith.
On April 10, 2026, the congregation, which was established on April 12, 1956, held a special gathering at its house worship to thank and praise God for His abounding love and blessings on the congregation over the decades.
Brother Romel Silva, district supervising minister, officiated at the occasion. Through the words of God he preached, he gave inspiration to the brethren by underscoring the great benefit of obeying the commandments of the Lord God—it comes with abundant blessings not only in this life but most of all the grace of eternal life in the Holy City. He encouraged them to remain steadfast in their faith despite life’s challenges, so that they could safeguard their membership in the Church and be saved on Judgment Day.
A musical program followed, which was held at the congregation’s compound. Select members of the Christian Family Organizations (CFO) rendered Iglesia Ni Cristo original songs of praise to the Lord God as their expression of gratitude for His unwavering love for the congregation.
On April 20, 2026, the brethren actively participated in the evangelical mission that was held at their house of worship. As part of the preparation, they conducted a weeklong devotional prayer and distributed copies of Pasugo: God’s Message magazines in their neighborhood on days prior.
Brother Dres led the Bible study. He proved to the many guests the inevitability of joining the true Church of Christ, that is, the Iglesia Ni Cristo, to attaining salvation on Judgment Day.
“I am thankful to have been invited to the INC’s evangelical mission. The lesson was clear to me—that a person needs to join the Church to be saved,” a guest by the name of Jay-ar Narag said. “I decided to continue examining the doctrines of the Church to know how it truly upholds the true teachings of God for the welfare of my soul’s salvation.”
Mindaluz Alberto, one of the oldest living members of the congregation, said, “I am thankful to the Lord God for giving me the opportunity to witness the 70th anniversary celebration of our congregation. Throughout the years, I have seen its growth and success, and how the Lord God continues to uphold not only the congregation but also the lives of the brethren in our local congregation despite the challenges that we have experienced. May this event further strengthen the faith and resolve of the brethren.”
“I thank the Church Administration for continually supervising our spiritual welfare through the words of God conveyed to us. I promise that no matter what happens, I will live by the will of God and continue doing what pleases Him, to glorify Him and secure my salvation on the nearing Judgment Day,” said Riza Timoteo, a congregation’s secretary.
