Demonstrating their commitment to help save lives, members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) in the Ecclesiastical Districts of Bulacan North and Quezon, Philippines, united in holding blood donation activities respectively on July 11, 2026.
Bulacan North
That in Bulacan was conducted at the New San Miguel Gymnasium in Brgy. Poblacion, San Miguel, Bulacan. Spearheaded by the district’s Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) officers, the socio-civic activity was made possible in partnership with Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JBLMGH).
“Through this activity, the brethren were given another opportunity to extend help to those in need,” said Brother Nepthalie Panes, district supervising minister.
“Adequate rest, proper meals, and observing the required health standards help ensure a safe donation process,” shared Derna Zapater, CMDPS officer. “That way, among others, blood donation not only helps save lives but also benefits qualified donors.”
Among the participants was first-time donor Gina Ramdam from the Local Congregation of Marelo. “I am delighted for the opportunity to donate blood for the first time,” she said. “Knowing that this simple act may help save someone’s life inspires me to continue supporting activities like this.”
Quezon
For the Ecclesiastical District of Quezon, a mobile blood donation activity was held at the Pacific Mall Events Center in Lucena City in partnership with Quezon Medical Center (QMC).
Guided by Brother Vincent Juanite, minister of the gospel, the personnel of the Social Services Office (SSO) of the Church, together with the district’s CMDPS officers, in coordination with QMC medical staff, facilitated the medical screening and actual blood collection procedures.
“Every successful blood donation has the potential to save lives,” said SSO volunteer physician, Dr. Randy Alinas. On behalf of the SSO, he added, “We are grateful to the Church Administration for continuously launching humanitarian activities that encourage the brethren to help the community through blood donation.”
A donor, Leonardo Pasildo, a SCAN officer, said, “Activities like this provide hope to many people. It is an honor to take part in helping save lives.” — With assistance from Irene S. Bernardo
