Brethren from 11 local congregations, namely, Bagong Barrio, Burgos, Care, Iba, Mababanaba, Pao, San Juan de Valdez, Sapang Maragul, Sta. Cruz, Sula, and Villa Aglipay, in the Ecclesiastical District of Tarlac City, Tarlac, Philippines, conducted a clean-up drive on February 17, 2024.
The activity was held in the village of Villa Aglipay, San Jose, Tarlac, as their take of the Church’s INC Giving project. The brethren cleaned the public park, covered court, school grounds, and the village plaza.
“This clean-up drive aims, among others, to promote awareness about environmental concerns and orderliness among members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) and, hopefully, among our nonmember fellowmen as well,” shared Brother Dexter Jereza, district Light Of Salvation (LOS) overseer.
While cleanliness of surroundings is the primary concern, this socio-civic activity also served as a moment for families to come together and share positive vibes with fellowmen, Church Of Christ members or not.
“Having this opportunity to be with each of our family members in this activity has been an added inspiration to us,” shared Ronald Cabling, deacon in the Local Congregation of Care. – With reports from Rose Pearl Peralta of INC News section
