In commemoration of the 112th anniversary of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) on July 27, 2026, the Ecclesiastical District of Hawaii-Pacific conducted a series of baptisms days prior, on the islands of Oahu and Maui (July 19), Kauai (July 21), and Big Island (July 24).

Brother Gem H. Baitan, district supervising minister, officiated at the baptismal gatherings in the local congregations of Waipahu (Oahu) and Kalaheo (Kauai) on July 19 and 21, respectively.

His homily emphasized the great significance of being a member of the true Church Of Christ. He also taught the baptismal candidates that their baptism was a very important milestone in their lives and indispensable for receiving salvation on Judgment Day.

Meanwhile, Brother Adorado Apostol, assistant district supervising minister, presided over the baptismal services held, respectively, in Lahaina (Maui) and Keaau (Big Island) on July 19 and 24.

In his sermon, he encouraged the baptismal candidates to continue serving God faithfully no matter what challenges they encounter in their lives to remain in the true Church and be saved on the Lord Jesus Christ’s return.

“I felt relief because my journey to reach this day was not easy. Joining the Church requires commitment. I am happy because I already earned the result of my sacrifices,” said Fabian Vargas, newly baptized. He was introduced to the Church by Avian Madriaga from Honolulu Congregation. “I feel very blessed, for I am able to share my faith with him,” she said.

“When I received baptism, I felt enlightened and became closer to God,” said Jay-Ar Cortez, also newly baptized. His cousin, Patrick Cortez, Light Of Salvation officer from Waipahu Congregation, said, “It is very nice to be a part of his conversion to the Church.”

After the baptismal gatherings, ‘Welcome, My Brethren’ activities were held, paving the way for the newly baptized members to be introduced to and informed about the Christian Family Organizations they ought to belong to.

“It is our hope that the newly baptized brethren in the Church Of Christ will remain strong in their faith,” said Brother Nathan Foux, resident minister of the Maili Congregation. “We will continue to share our faith and help people find the truth that God wants for them to know, especially regarding salvation,” he added.—With reports from Eraño Biong
