Two days prior to the the 111th anniversary of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), prospective members in the Ecclesiastical District of Cagayan East, in the Philippines, received baptism at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Baua, on July 25, 2025.

District supervising minister Brother Troy Gatchalian officiated at the sacred occasion. In his homily, he emphasized that receiving the true baptism is a great blessing from the Lord God: those who are baptized into the true Church—the Church Of Christ—have been forgiven of their sins, granted the right to worship the Lord God, and, above all, have the sure hope of salvation on Judgment Day. After the homily, the candidates for baptism took their oath of membership, and were then immersed into the water, their actual baptism.

Among the newly baptized was Jackson Asistin from the Calayan Congregation. In an interview, he shared, “I will never forget this day when I became a bona fide member of the Church. I promise to hold on firmly to my election and to remain united with the Church Administration. In fact, my wife has already been undergoing biblical instruction, and I hope to become instrumental as well, so that my other loved ones may also be called into the Church and receive salvation on Judgment Day.”

“Today’s baptism is in commemoration of the 111th anniversary of the Church and, above all, aims to bring greater glory to God. On behalf of all the brethren in our district, we promise to the Church Administration that we will remain united with them and continue to be instruments in calling more people into the Church—for their salvation and to bring joy to God,” said district assistant supervising minister Brother Julito Ortiz. — With reports from Winston Saytoc
