For the month of May alone, 105 new members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) were added in the Ecclesiastical District of Capiz, Philippines. Specifically, they were baptized on May 30, 2026 in the baptistery at the Local Congregation of Roxas City’s house of worship.
Brother Raul Ysagun Sr., district supervising minister, officiated at the baptismal gathering prior to the actual baptism. In his Bible-based sermon, he emphasized to the aspiring members that those who receive the proper baptism in the true Church become true disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ and given the right to render the true worship of God and the hope for salvation on Judgment Day. He then exhorted them to live according to the teachings of Christ so that they may be worthy of receiving the promised eternal life.
After the homily, the would-be members took their oath of membership, administered by Brother Conrado Cornista, district Church officers’ overseer, before their immersion into water as the Bible prescribes.
“I thank the Lord God for the great blessings He has bestowed upon me. I have truly been looking forward to this day when I would become a full-fledged member of the Church,” one of the newly baptized members, Rafael Ramos from the Panay Congregation, enthused. “I promise to take care of my membership and continue pleasing God until the end so that I may be worthy of receiving the promised salvation.”
Fellow new convert, Jelyn Corpuz from the Maantol Congregation, said, “I am beyond words in expressing how thankful I am to the Lord God for allowing me to receive my baptism. I firmly believe that being a member of the Church Of Christ is essential to receiving salvation when Christ returns. I vow to take care of my membership and live according to the faith taught by Christ so that I may be worthy of the great reward promised to God’s faithful servants.”—With reports from Nixon Figueroa and Michael Samir Shohdy
