A local congregation was recently established in Port Arthur, a city in Texas, United States of America.
Named after the said city, the new local congregation, which is in the Ecclesiastical District of Texas, held its inaugural worship service on May 17, 2026, marking its official establishment.
The Port Arthur Congregation used to be the Beaumont Group Worship Service under the supervision of the Humble Congregation. Its members used to hold their worship services at the residence of Jordan Magallanes, deacon and the then GWS overseer.
“Having our GWS approved by the Church Administration to become a local congregation is a such a great blessing,” said Magallanes. “We will strive all the more to be dedicated in our worship services, as well as in helping in the work of sharing our faith.”
The new local congregation’s worship services are now held in a rented hall located at 3501 Turtle Creek Drive, Port Arthur, Texas, which can better accommodate the growing number of worshipers.
For its inaugural worship service, the Port Arthur Congregation witnessed the videostreaming of the worship service officiated at by the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo. It was “a timely opportunity and blessed moment for our newly established congregation,” said Azineth Buan, a deaconess and finance officer.
In his homily, Brother Eduardo Manalo reminded the brethren of the ardent desire of the Messenger in these last days, Brother Felix Y. Manalo, that all of those who were called into the Church Of Christ would be saved on the Day of Judgment. He encouraged them to uphold holiness, among others, to please the Lord God.
Grace Applegate, choir organist, local secretary, and finance officer, conveyed, “I feel blessed that I am able to continue to perform with my family in the respective duties we have in our new local congregation.”
“Previously, many brethren had to travel for at least two hours to get to the place of worship. Now, the place of worship is much closer and more accessible to them,” said Conrad Buan, who was appointed as the congregation’s head deacon. He further stated, “I will lead and convince the brethren in active services to the Father, and in helping the Church Administration, especially in the work of propagation, so that we would further grow as a local congregation.”
Brother Neil Alexander Trinidad has been appointed as the Port Arthur Congregation’s resident minister.
