VALENZUELA CITY, Metro Manila — Residents of Valenzuela City, primarily from Barangay Maysan, came together on April 12, 2025 to donate blood for the benefit of Valenzuela Medical Center (VMC) and its patients in need.

The event, organized in collaboration with the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC), was held at the INC worship building compound along Maysan Road. The initiative aims at VMC’s ongoing efforts to meet the increasing demand for life-saving blood, especially during these challenging times.

Many residents from Barangay Maysan, mostly INC members, turned out, rolling up their sleeves in the name of solidarity, health, and hope.

“You reach out and help … You are truly a blessing, not just physically but spiritually, as well,” says Dr. Julliane Marie Agape Grajeda, a pathologist from VMC.

This initiative [INC blood donation] adheres to the Christian teaching of helping those in need,” explains Brother Felixberto Rosales, the INC resident minister in Maysan who was among those who donated blood that day.

Such initiatives are also held in other countries. In fact, among those who joined the blood donation in Barangay Maysan, Valenzuela City was Danica Diaz, a housewife and four-time blood donor. “My second time was in Winnipeg, Canada, during an INC blood donation there,” she recalled.

As the world continues to navigate public health challenges, acts like these prove that compassion is contagious—and just as vital as any medicine.

The Iglesia Ni Cristo is a Christian religion and community partner that helps. It has active Church members and congregations in more than 160 countries and territories.
