New Church officers from local congregations in the Ecclesiastical District of Southern Europe took their oath of office during a special gathering on December 6, 2020.
The house of worship of the Local Congregation of Rome served as the main site where officers from the Local Congregations of Roma Nord, Roma Sud, Roma Est, and Roma Ovest also attended.
Following travel restrictions between the regions, brethren from the local congregations in Tuscany and Lazio region attended the gathering through videoconferencing in the safety of their respective homes.
Attendees in Rome house of worship likewise strictly followed government-implemented health protocols.
Brother Randy Macalinao, district supervising minister, officiated at the solemn occasion. In his Bible-based homily, he taught the officers to carry on in the performance of their duties, to practice humility no matter the duty God gave them, and to always be thankful in every situation.
Reflecting on the biblical lesson, Children’s Worship Service (CWS) district president Smailee Del-is, promised: “With the blessings that I’ve been receiving in my life, I’ll continue to perform my duty. I’ll always submit to the Church Administration and all the more to Brother Eduardo V. Manalo.”
Chris Gomez, a head deacon, expressed the collective sentiment and resolve of the attendees as helpers of the Church Administration in caring for the brethren: “We thank the Lord God for this special gathering, through the leadership of the Church Administration, [for] amid this pandemic, our faith is being strengthened; thus, we will [unite with] the aim of the Church Administration in caring for our brethren,” he said. — With reports from INC News Section
