On October 17 and 18, 2026, the Ecclesiastical District of Capiz, in the Philippines, respectively held a Care for Humanity event in Sitio Minoro, Barangay Bula, Mambusao, Capiz and a special gathering of Church officers. In the latter, held at the house of worship of the Roxas City Congregation, new Church officers were inducted.

Lingap sa Mamamayan

With the instruction from the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the district not only provided care packages to the community of Sitio Minoro but also donated a water system. The district supervising minister, Brother Herbert Lazala, led this Lingap sa Mamamayan event.

Ricardo Marquez, barangay captain, said, “I thank the INC, especially Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, for their concern for our community. Since my childhood, water has been a problem here. We used to walk for hours into the mountains to fetch water from a well. Through the help of the Church, our long-standing problem has finally been resolved, and residents will now have easier access to water.”

“Now that the threat of Super El Niño looms, having a water system near our community is a great help to us. I am very thankful to the INC for being proactive in looking after our needs. For many years, we have struggled to access water. Through this project, obtaining water will be more convenient for us and will help our community prepare for the possible effects of Super El Niño,” stated Dennis Harion, also one of the residents.

“I thank the Lord God for the success of this activity. May this project of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), through the Church Administration, help improve the lives of our fellowmen, especially those who have endured years of difficulty in accessing water. Above all, may it bring glory to the Lord God,” said Brother Lazala.

Special gathering

Brother Lazala also led the next day’s activity, the special gathering of Church officers. Through the Holy Scriptures, he reminded them of the qualities that God expects of office holders as helpers of the Church Administration in looking after their brethren’s spiritual welfare.

The district ministers emphasized the importance of fulfilling their duties faithfully and with integrity while striving to serve as good examples of leading a life that is pleasing to God and which assures them of His promised blessings in this life and in the one to come.

Brother Conrad Cornista, the district Church officers’ overseer, then administered the oath-taking ceremony of the 369 new officers.

One of them, Alron Kien Bibanco, who was sworn in as a deacon of the Local Congregation of Panay said, “I am happy because the Lord God has entrusted me with the duty of a deacon in our local congregation. I promise to fulfill it wholeheartedly and devotedly to please God and to become an effective helper of the Church Administration in looking after the brethren under my care.”

Samantha Nicole of the Roxas City Congregation, who took her oath as an area secretary, said, “I thank the Lord God for this duty He has given me. I will take care of it and perform it with integrity and wholeheartedly.” — With reports from Michael Samir Shohdy
