A blood donation drive and Lingap sa Mamamayan (Care for Humanity) events were recently conducted by the Ecclesiastical District of Palawan, in the Philippines.

The blood donation drive held on October 24, 2026 at the Bolasa Residence in Barangay Sta. Monica, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan was supervised by Brother Michael Gayanilo, the district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer. It was facilitated by members from the Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) and the Society of Communicators and Networkers, International (SCAN).

Volunteer-donors underwent health screening conducted by medical professionals with the Ospital ng Palawan (ONP) Blood Bank to ensure strict compliance with medical safety standards. Out of 119 individuals who registered, 108 were assessed   eligible to donate blood, from whom a total of 100 blood bags were collected.

Brother Gayanilo emphasized that the blood donation allows members to express compassion and care for others through life-saving activity. “This Church activity is [in compliance with] God’s command to love and care for our fellowmen, which the Church Administration is not remiss in reminding us about,” he said.

A choir member from the Sta. Monica Congregation, Marco Jomilo, who participated in the event, expressed, “I’m deeply moved because when the Church calls for an activity like this, I want to cooperate. This doesn’t just help members in the Church but even all residents in the community.”

“This is our first time partnering with the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), and it is a wonderful opportunity because we are currently facing a critical shortage of blood supplies,” said Cristy Dionson, a registered nurse at ONP. “Having an activity like this is a massive help to our hospital. We are heartfeltly grateful for choosing us as their partner for today’s mission.”

Meanwhile, Brother Jovilito P. Manuba, the assistant district supervising minister, led the district’s Lingap sa Mamamayan, also on October 24. Through this event  held at Barangay Lucbuan, Puerto Princesa City, a total of 400 care packages consisting rice, and canned goods, among others, were distributed.

The another Lingap sa Mamamayan was held the next day, at Acacia Congregation’s house of worship compound, also led by Brother Manuba. A total of 1,600 residents received care packages.

Nori-Ann Iniego, a finance officer said, “How timely the relief bundles were for families experiencing economic crisis. These are helpful to our brethren and fellow citizens through their day-to-day needs.”

A member of the Born Again Christian and a student, Euai Mesashi Moises, expressed deep gratitude after receiving assistance. “I’m so happy because this outreach wasn’t just for Church members, it was open to everyone in need. Receiving this aid cuts down my daily expenses for the next few days.”

“This outreach fulfills God’s commands to love our neighbors by extending a helping hand to those who need it most,” Brother Manuba said. “Many residents in this province still live in poverty. We are happy to reach out and provide for their practical daily needs.”

The Ecclesiastical District of Palawan consists of 17 local congregations, three extensions, and five group worship services (GWS) and was under the supervision of Brother Esmeraldo S. Sibuma, the district supervising minister.
