To further edify the faith of the brethren and propagate the pristine words of God upheld by the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), the Ecclesiastical District of Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, held a Songs of Faith, Love, and Hope (SOFLAH) event, a two-day Pasugo drive, and an evangelical mission on September 13, 18 and 19, and 20, 2026, respectively.
SOFLAH
During the SOFLAH, select talented brethren from various local congregations of the district performed song and dance numbers before the audience, featuring their rendition of INC original music. The activity was held at the Labangan Commercial Complex, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines.
Before the program proper, Brother Jayson Engay, a ministerial worker, led the opening prayer. Then, Brother Carlito Gonzales Jr., assistant district supervising minister, led the opening remarks. He commended everyone for their presence and hoping that the activity would further strengthen the bond among the brethren, their commitment to their Church membership, and, above all, their faith in the Lord God.
“I am very happy and inspired at the same time as I see the brethren perform. They sing each song so movingly that it truly strengthens my faith,” said Danilo Villarmia, head deacon of the Mahayag Congregation.
The event concluded with all the performers singing “Ang Panalangin Ko” (My Prayer). Afterwards, Brother Ronald Poyaoan, the district Church officers overseer, led the closing prayer.
Brother Rogelio B. Laplana Jr., district supervising minister, graced the event with his presence.
“I am truly grateful to the Lord God for making this activity possible. We were able to perform before the brethren, and it is so fulfilling on my part to see the brethren inspired by our performances,” said Junniver Romano, one of the performers.
Pasugo drive
Days after, a two-day Pasugo drive was held in every local congregation of the district in “preparation for the upcoming evangelical mission, which would be held simultaneously in all houses of worship of local congregations within the district,” according to Brother Rino Velayo, the district Light Of Salvation (LOS) overseer.
More than 2,000 copies of Pasugo: God’s Message magazines and invitations were distributed during the drive.
“I always look forward to activities such as this, as through this, I am able to share my faith with my fellowmen, and, above all, I am able to please the Lord God. I am hoping that through the copies of Pasugo I have given to them, they may learn more about the Iglesia Ni Cristo,” said Jey Mainit, Buklod president of the Local Congregation of Pagadian City.
Evangelical mission
The brethren from all local congregations of the district, together with their guests, flocked to their respective houses of worship to attend the evangelical mission.
In the local congregations of Pulacan and Macasing, Brothers Laplana and Gonzales officiated at the evangelical missions, respectively. The rest of the evangelical missions were led by other members of the district leadership and respective resident ministers and ministerial workers.
The officiating ministers taught through the Holy Scriptures that joining the Church Of Christ is indispensable for man’s salvation on Judgment Day.
More than three thousand guests attended the evangelical mission across the district.
Among the guests was Eljhun Mayola, who said, “I am grateful to have been invited to the evangelical mission. I have learned that joining the INC is Christ’s instruction for the salvation of mankind on His Second Advent.”
“As I have observed, the INC members are very welcoming as we enter their house of worship. And the minister gets the answer directly from the Bible without giving his personal opinion,” expressed Lovely Fuertes, another guest.—With reports from Reynald Castillo and Julie Ann Albutra
