In obedience to God’s command to share the Good News, the Ecclesiastical District of Buug, Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines, conducted intensive propagation activities during the last week of July this year. A baptismal gathering was also held by the district.
Evangelical missions
On July 28, evangelical missions were simultaneously held in all the local congregations and extensions of the district. A total of 1,176 guests attended.
Brother Jose Salvador Jr., district supervising minister, officiated at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Imelda. Meanwhile, Brother Ralp Patrick Medina, assistant district supervising minister, led the evangelistic activity at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Siay. The rest of the evangelical missions were led by other members of the district leadership and the respective resident ministers and ministerial workers.
During the study of God’s words written in the Bible, officiating ministers and ministerial workers emphasized to all attendees that, above all else, people should prioritize attaining salvation on Judgment Day. They further emphasized that this can be attained by obeying Christ’s command to enter the flock, which is the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), and by remaining therein active until the end.
Jamester Watemar, a guest, said, “I found the lesson very interesting because it came directly from the Bible. The minister emphasized the importance of joining the Iglesia Ni Cristo to attain salvation.”
Baptism
Three days after the evangelical mission, on July 31, the district held a baptismal gathering of 54 would-be members at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Buug.
Brother Salvador officiated at the baptismal gathering. Through a Bible-based lesson, he emphasized the importance of receiving baptism in the true Church and remaining faithful members therein until the end to attain salvation come Judgment Day.
After the homily, would-be members took their oath of membership led by Brother Osorio Bolangaita Jr., the district edification overseer. They were then baptized.
“I will never forget this day. This the most blessed day in my life, becoming a full-fledged member of the Church,” enthused Reigne Medalla from the Olutanga Congregation. “I thank the Lord God for this great blessing He has given me.”
Another newly baptized member, Ramjell Guevarra from the Del monte Congregation said, “I’ve longed for this day to come, and I thank the Lord God for allowing me to receive baptism. I vow to value my membership and to continue doing the things that please Him so that I may receive salvation on Judgment Day.”— With reports from Joey Talas
