Local congregation chroniclers throughout the Ecclesiastical District of Carcar City, Cebu, in the Philippines, gathered for a seminar-workshop that was held at the conference room of the Local Congregation of Carcar City on July 5, 2026. The activity aimed to further equip them with skills in documenting the history and significant activities of their respective local congregations.
Leading the activity were Brothers Abner C. Flores, district supervising minister, Reanil Manlangit, district chronicler, and Armandave Ochia, district multimedia adviser.
In his opening remarks, Brother Flores emphasized the importance of preserving the history of every local congregation and encouraged the chroniclers to never neglect their God-given responsibilities. Guided by an instructional presentation prepared by the INC Research and Information Section, Brother Manlangit discussed the scope of every local congregation chronicler’s duties.
On his part, Brother Ochia, meanwhile, conducted a workshop on proper photography and video documentation during Church activities. This was followed by an open forum wherein the attendees were able to make clarificatory questions. Discussing the proper preparation of historical records, Brother Manlangit and the participants together analyzed some examples of local congregations’ histories.
“The seminar further equipped the chroniclers with the knowledge and guidance they need in documenting the history of their respective local congregations,” said Brother Manlangit. “Through this activity approved by the Church Administration, they were reminded to fulfill their responsibility with diligence.”
“The seminar helped me better understand the scope of my duty as a chronicler,” shared Colon Local Congregation chronicler, Kathrin Cantado. “I’m inspired to apply what I learned so I can fulfill my responsibility more efficiently.”
Likewise grateful, Langtad Local Congregation chronicler, Cherry Mae Reyes, shared, “The workshop gave us chroniclers practical knowledge that will greatly help us in documenting our congregation’s history.” — With assistance from Arcel D. Lubugan
