In the Ecclesiastical District of Quezon West, Philippines, a combined number of about 700 individuals who are in the process of joining the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) were gathered for two similar meetings in separate venues on June 14, 2026.
Brother Christopher T. Angeles, district supervising minister, presided over the meeting held in the house of worship of the Candelaria Congregation, and Brother Ruel C. Belangel, assistant district supervising minister, in that of the Sariaya Congregation.
The special meetings aimed to strengthen doctrinal instructees and prospective members in their new-found faith by acquainting them with various Church activities that they ought to take part in especially when they will have been full-fledged members, such as evangelical missions.
“This is in response to the exhortation of Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, our dear Executive Minister, to make certain that those who are joining the Church are indeed applying the biblical lessons they’ve been taught,” said Brother Rene Ven D. Blorio, district Light of Salvation (LOS) overseer.
Through a Bible-based lecture delivered by the presiding ministers, the doctrinal instructees and prospective members were given inspiration to fully embrace, even this early in the process of their joining the Church, the Christian duties they would receive in the Church Of Christ. They were, thus, encouraged to invite their loved ones in the upcoming evangelical missions in the district.
Brethren who have been instrumental in the attendees’ joining the Church, such as bringing them to Bible studies, among others, likewise attended the gatherings.
One of them, Michelle Mirable, a finance officer with the Candelaria Congregation, shared that she believed the activity “helped so much in strengthening the faith of those joining the Church. On my part, I will continue assisting them and many more, so that altogether we can please God.”
“This meeting all the more inspired me to continue with the process of joining the Church,” enthused Xhenna Joy Escoto, a doctrinal instructee from the Morong Congregation. “I realized that it is only right that I put God first in my life by truly obeying His commandments so that He will be there for me.”
