More than a hundred local congregation secretaries in the Ecclesiastical District of Western Australia received spiritual nourishment and inspiration to keep fulfilling their Church duties.
This was during the special gathering on April 12, 2026 held principally at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Perth served as host site and 10 remote sites to which the whole proceedings were livestreamed.
Brother Nolly Esperanza, district supervising minister, officiated at the sacred gathering. He delivered his Bible-based lecture after Brother Arman Austria, resident minister of Fremantle Congregation, led the opening prayer.
Brother Esperanza reminded the congregation secretariat members that a duty in the Church such as theirs was not given by mere men but by the Almighty God, thus, they should give it utmost importance and faithfully fulfill it no matter what. He gave inspiring words that every sacrifice they make in doing so is not a loss as God always remembers their selfless efforts through which He reserves them blessings.
Brother Emmanuel Era, district edification overseer, led the closing prayer. Then, Brother Joemel Remoticado, district Church officers overseer, administered the oath-taking of new secretaries.
One of them, Juan Miguel Macapagal, from the Coogee Congregation, said, “I felt blessed and humbled, as God has entrusted me this duty that can help to further strengthen the faith of the brethren.”
“Serving as a secretary in the Church is both an honor and a gift from our Lord God,” said Yolanda Igasan, head secretary of Rockingham Congregation. “It is a service rendered demanding faithfulness, integrity, accuracy, and wholehearted dedication.”
For Lea Ardio, a Light of Salvation secretary from Midland Congregation, performing her duty “is a way for me to show to our Lord God how grateful I am for calling me into the true faith.” She explained, “It allows me to contribute to the growth of the Church, an avenue for me to be useful in the work of salvation through the skills and gifts that God blessed me with.”
Responding to the lesson, Ellise Sampang, local secretary from Fremantle Congregation, promised, “No matter what happens in life, I will never forsake my duty. I believe that God’s love and blessings lie in our duties; therefore, if we continue to strive in our performances and go on in fulfilling our obligations, God will all the more pour His love and blessings on us, His servants.” — With reports from Hannah Sharlene Leoncio
