The Christian Society for the Deaf (CSD) in the Ecclesiastical District of Metro Manila East, in the Philippines, conducted an activity dubbed “Haptics and Senses” for the benefit especially of its visually-impaired members on March 29, 2026.

Brother Mark Malicat, district Christian Family Organizations overseer, led the activity which provided an avenue for the differently-abled brethren to bond with one another and with other brethren, finding encouragement and toward further strengthening of their faith.

The program focused on “haptics”—the science of touch—and other non-visual senses to facilitate interaction. Through a series of specially designed games, such as “Guess the Song” and “Pass the Message,” participants were able to get better acquainted with one another, fostering a deep sense of belonging as brothers and sisters in Christ.

“This activity aimed to benefit our brothers and sisters who are blind or have low vision,” explained Brother Orlando Ordan, district CSD adviser. “Through this event, the Church Administration shows them love and remembrance by providing an opportunity for them to interact and be together.”

Participants also received giveaways and souvenirs at the end of the activity. Beyond the fun, the activity served as a vital platform for members to share their experiences and offer support.

“I’m happy that the Administration organized this activity for the blind and visually impaired to help us build a strong bond,” expressed KADIWA member Shelomith Suprimido from the Local Congregation of Highway Hills. “I thank Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the Executive Minister, for being God’s instrument in showing us deep love, care, and support.”

“I’m excited to reunite with the friends I’ve made through these activities designed for us PWDs [persons with disabilities],” remarked Buklod member Princess April Aljibe from the Local Congregation of Ilugin. “I truly love the Church Administration for their constant care and for the immense help they provide to those of us with disabilities.” — With assistance from Kyle Ronuald Arellano and Sir Aris Galias
