Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members in the Ecclesiastical District of Marikina, in the Philippines, invited more than 1,400 guests to attend a district-wide evangelical mission. It was held on March 30, 2026, with the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Calumpang as the host site.
Streamed live to all the district’s local congregations, the evangelistic activity was officiated at by the Church’s Edification Overseer, Brother Arnel A. Tumanan. He delivered a biblical lesson highlighting the great value of God’s words for man’s welfare and salvation, after a prayer led by district supervising minister Brother Cyrus Jose E. Dizon.
Before the event concluded, pre-recorded videos of guests in Marikina, who asked questions about the Church’s beliefs, were shown. Thereafter, Brother Tumanan addressed their queries. Using the Bible still, he explained why Church members do not eat blood, why they do not make the sign of the cross, and why it firmly believes that it is the one true religion.
“I attended because I was curious about this Church,” shared guest Ezikiel Mabiog. His friend and fellow guest Crisdel Jan Legaspi expressed their amazement with “the orderliness and solemnity of the event.” Grateful with all their learnings in the evangelical mission, they both remarked, “the questions in our mind were answered and it’s satisfying as they were read from the Bible itself.”
For Daniel Christopher Garcia, leadership aide assisting in the pulpit, what paved the way for him and his fellow brethren in the area to bring many guests was “our collective effort in inviting nonmembers.”
“We thank God for being given this great opportunity to let many more people know the truth so they may have the chance of being saved,” enthused Calumpang Congregation resident minister Brother Nelson P. Corpuz. — With assistance from Marikina District Multimedia
