The fourth week of January 2026 saw four districts across the United States of America and Canada conducting baptismal gatherings, thereby adding more people into the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ).
Joining them in the sacred gathering, as well as the “Welcome, My Brethren” activity held right after, were the brethren instrumental in their conversion into the Church.
Northern Plains
Braving extreme cold and snowstorm, the Ecclesiastical District of Northern Plains remain unhindered from conducting baptisms. The baptismal gatherings were held at the house of worship of the Local Congregations of Minneapolis, Minnesota on January 19 and Omaha, Nebraska on January 23.
These were both officiated by district supervising minister Brother Elmer J. Parungao, during which he underscored the importance of valuing membership in the true Church, being God’s call for salvation. Then, district auditor Brother Cardinal E. Galang led the baptismal candidates’ taking oath of membership, also on both venues.
Afterwards, district Christian Family Organizations overseer Brother Edison O. Solomon baptized those in Minneapolis, while resident minister Brother Aldrin G. Guingab baptized those in Omaha.
“I was told so many different stuff and there’s no right or wrong answer,” shared Zaley Walker, former Catholic. “Here, I understood the teachings from the Bible as it’s read, explained very well [by the minister].”
Hawaii-Pacific
Also on January 23, the Hawaii-Pacific Ecclesiastical District conducted a baptism. The house of worship of Ewa Beach Local Congregation, in Oahu, served as the host site, that in American Samoa, Maui, and Big Island as remote sites as would-be members hail there, respectively.
District supervising minister Brother Gem H. Baitan officiated the gathering, during which he reminded the importance of sharing the true faith, being a God-given noble task, that is, instrumental in the would-be members’ conversion into the Church Of Christ.
“Since I’m baptized in the Church now, my goal is to continue being an active member, strengthening my faith, and inviting my family and friends into the Church,” shared Dante Maurer from Ewa Beach.
British Columbia
The baptismal gathering in the Ecclesiastical District of British Columbia, Canada was held two days later, on January 25, at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Burnaby with district supervising minister Brother Glendo H. Baitan officiating. In his Bible-based homily, he emphasized to the baptismal candidates that faithful servants of God remain steadfast in their obedience to Him no matter what.
“I am happy that I am now a member of the Church Of Christ. I really am happy,” enthused Neslyn Roblete from Victoria Congregation. “I pray to God that my family and other loved ones would also know about the true Church. May they also become members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo someday,” shared Engelica Ingalla from Burnaby Congregation.
Orange County
New members were added to the Church Of Christ in the Ecclesiastical District of Orange County, California on the same date, January 25, 2026.
Prior to her newfound faith being in the Church Of Christ, “I experienced being down low, very depressed, not focused on my studies,” shared Elaine Vallejo from Riverside Congregation. Upon being baptized therein, she added, “It has made me happier as it bring us [members] together as a family. It has brought me closer to God.”
“Baptism inside the Iglesia Ni Cristo is extremely important. Our Lord Jesus Christ commands that people who want to become His disciples should receive the true baptism—they should be baptized inside the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ)—for their sins to be forgiven, and receive the right to be saved on Judgment Day,” said district assistant supervising minister Brother Joel Narciso who officiated the baptismal gathering.
“As the Iglesia Ni Cristo continues to grow, it is so crucial for members to be all the more active in sharing our faith with others because we believe that we’re getting closer and closer to the day of our salvation while there’s still so many more people we can invite, with whom we can share our faith,” he added. – With reports from Edward Lemuel Castro, Erwin Sunga, and Cerdan Jay Aniciete
