The Local Congregation of Hondagua in the Ecclesiastical District of Quezon East in the Philippines commemorated its 85th anniversary by conducting an evangelical mission and sports activities on March 21 and April 1, 2025, respectively.

Brother Joemar Politico, resident ministerial worker, led the evangelical mission held at the congregation’s house of worship. He emphasized from the Bible that joining the true Church is necessary for people to receive salvation on Judgment Day. The true Church is none other than the Church Of Christ, which Christ, the Savior Himself, commands people to find and join.

“A total of 300 guests attended the evangelistic activity,” attested Brother Politico. Among them was Salina Hilajan, who shared, “The lesson was clear. From what I observed, the preacher answered directly from the Bible. I’d be glad to be invited again, to learn more about the doctrines that the INC upholds.”

Meanwhile, the congregation’s sports activity was held at the covered court of Barangay Hondagua, Lopez, Quezon. Organized by the congregation’s Christian Family Organizations (CFO) officers, the occasion was made more special with district supervising minister Brother Rico Melgar and assistant district supervising minister Brother Buenaventura De Castro Jr. gracing the event with their presence.

During the event, brethren showcased their skills in basketball and volleyball. The games not only strengthened their bond but also fostered camaraderie and unity among the participants.

“I’m thankful to the Church Administration for supporting this kind of activity, which has truly helped strengthen our faith and our love of the brotherhood,” said the congregation Buklod president Wilbor De Asis. Most of all, “may we have given glory and honor to God as today’s activity is part of commemorating His immeasurable blessings to our congregation over the past 85 years,” added head deacon Alexander Alcantara.

On behalf of the congregation, “we thank the Lord God for His guidance and love and we promise to remain firm in our faith of continuously doing what pleases Him,” said Brother Politico.
