After completing the prerequisites prescribed by the Bible to become bona fide members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), prospective members from the Ecclesiastical District of Nagoya, Japan, received baptism on August 30, 2024.

There were two venues for the occasion: the houses of worship of the Nagoya and Okayama Local Congregations. Brothers Manny Benedicto, district supervising minister, and Herbert Lazala, assistant district supervising minister, officiated, respectively.

During their preaching, the ministers taught the baptismal candidates to uphold obedience to the commandments of God all the days of their lives to attain salvation come Judgment Day.

Afterwards, the candidates for baptism took oath of membership; their actual immersion into the water next.

Newly baptized Kaito Sugiura from the Nagoya Congregation enthused, “I thank God for calling me into the Church. I pledge to follow His commands so I may be deemed worthy of receiving salvation on Judgment Day.”

Another newly baptized member, Jeka Hattori from the Gifu City Congregation said, “I express my sincerest gratitude to our Lord God for this great blessing I receive today. Whatever happens, I will remain in the Church. I will never draw back from my calling. I will continue to do what pleases God.” — With reports from Stephanie Delos Reyes of INC News Section
