The two youth organizations in the neighboring congregations within Pontevedra, Capiz, Philippines joined their resources and efforts together on February 25, 2023 to clean up as one a riverside park in this municipality.
Some hundred members of the KADIWA and Binhi from the congregations of Pontevedra, Ameligan, Catmon, Hipona, Jamul-awon, Magubilan, Panay, Panit-an, and Rizal gathered at Pontevedra Esplanade, one of the town’s tourist attractions, and cleared it of litter and weeds, which they then properly disposed of.
“We hold environmental activities like this on every opportune time to promote cleanliness of our environment,” avered Brother Dominador Damole Jr., resident minister of the Pontevedra Local Congregation. This and the rest of the abovementioned congregations are under the Ecclesiastical District of Capiz.
“We did not only help in keeping the beauty of nature,” said Ma. Aliza Javier, a KADIWA secretary from the same congregation. “This activity has helped us also in strengthening our bond of brotherhood, which is crucial to our remaining zealous in serving God.” — With reports from INC News Section
