The Ecclesiastical District of Zamboanga del Norte, in the Philippines, held a series of blood donation drives across the province of its namesake. The first one was held on July 10, 2026 at the Brgy. La Union Covered Court with brethren from local congregations in and around the town of Labason participating. The second in the series was held on July 31 at Brgy. La Roche Covered Court with brethren in congregations in and around Sindangan participating. Lastly, that which took place on August 1 at the Sta. Isabela Elementary School’s covered court, in Dipolog City, for brethren in nearby congregations.

“I’m a regular donor,” shared Brother Dennis Magpantay, resident minister of the Tampilisan Congregation. “Whenever there are activities like this, I’m always ready to donate blood to help those who are in need.”

Medical practitioners and medical technologists, Benjamin Mutia and Shekainah Jane Catolico, along with blood bank officer Nurse Russel, facilitated the multi-stage extraction procedures. The Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) district officers helped facilitate the screening process.

“The blood we collected today will be used for patients who need blood, such as pregnant women with complications and children with severe illnesses,” explained Catolico.

“Truthfully, it’s incredibly difficult to secure blood donors. Fortunately, there’s an institution—this Church—that launches activities to help donate blood,” Russel remarked.

For being the beneficiary institution, the Dr. Jose Memorial Hospital extended to the Church certificates of appreciation.

Brother Gavino A. Mabido, district supervising minister, and Brother Ricardo Umpad, district assistant district supervising minister, along other ministers constituting the district leadership, showed support for the event being themselves present in the venue.
